Day 11

Sue

This was a very full day. After having a driving lesson (geez it would be so much easier if they drove on the right hand side of the road) we set out for Flagstaff Marine Museum. This is a recreation of a small Australian port during the 1850's. It was almost as though the complex was open just for us because there were hardly any people there. We were able to explore each house and ship without having to wait in line or peek around some one's shoulder. Between us I was just thrilled to walk along the same gangplank as Tom Selleck did in the movie "Quigley Down Under" (big sigh).

Since there were no crowds there we finished quite early and headed up to Cheese World. Wow. What a disappointment. I think the guide book said it was the greatest dairy themed attraction in Southern Victoria. I am still looking for the attraction. The attraction consisted of a GIFT SHOP and a tea room. Even the milkshake museum was closed. Oh well. At least they didn't charge admission. I did buy some cheese and we went back to the house to pack a picnic dinner.

In our snazzy rental car (it was easier to drive than David's "land yacht") we drove down The Great Ocean Road stopping at The Bay of Islands, London Bridge and Loch Ard Gorge. We ate in Port Campbell along side the water. We got back to Warrnambool just as the sun was setting.

It was a beautiful day all around!
