What a great opportunity to live in the past and make Jack Aubrey your mate. The ROSE is fabulous, designed by Phil Bolger, who also designed my small tall ship, a folding 31 foot schooner. I can pretend I am in the past also!! Thanks for a great web page.

Dear Spinner, Excellent job! Good pictures and content. Nice to reminisce about motoring to windward. But please remind your viewers about the 200 knot winds that shredded several of our sails. Sincerely, Tony and Christina

Well, I wss finally able to access your Website! Very impressive. Obviously a lot of work went into this. You and Kate should be commended! I printed it out for Michael, but black and white doesn't do it justice. More! More!

Just came back for another visit and look at all the new stuff. Brought back memories of Patrick saying it was the voyage itself, not the destination that made up the experience. My poor hat that served me so well, turned brown after being soaked with bi ge water after the A compartment tidal wave. When it began to smell worse than my shoes after Jackal had baptised them, I threw them both away--now I am sorry not to have them--sense memory being so important in recalling events. Dearest Patrick, What an excellent job on the Rose Voyage site. Truly, I can't wait to read the next installment. I must admit after reading the mounting posts, I am not sure Leslee (my girlfriend) and I would have fared so well aboard had we been able to make th trip; both of us "portly", and me with asthma and a host of other complaints which I will not bore you with. Suffice it to say that heat, humidity and dampness are the conditions I am obliged to eschew in my every life, and it seems they were quite una oidable. This unfortunate fact makes me even more grateful for the fortitude (and the writerly gifts) of the lissuns who were able to take part. Once again, I must commend you on a splendid job in both the construction of the site and the narrative. Almost make me feel like I went along. All the best to you & Sue,-Fred Melamed P.S. It was lovely of you to have mentioned my father and me in that post a while ago. I showed it to him and he got a great kick out of it. I didn’t mind at all either! Yr pal,-Melamed

Just another lurking lisson, totally envious of your adventures. I guess I'll just have to read thru the POB series again to curb my wanderlust. It'll only be my 5th trip thru the Aubrey saga.
