Sorrento
and Capri
Sorrento lies on a peninsula separating the Bay
of Naples,
which it faces, from the Gulf of Salerno.
This town has
become a favorite Mediterranean sea-side resort
area
because of it's ideal climate, magnificent scenic
location
and beautiful cliff-side gardens. We walked
it's narrow
cobblestone streets and stopped in many of their
beautiful
shops along the way. Sorrento is well-known
for it's wood
inlays and lace work. I found these beautiful
miniature
porcelain dolls with unique lace dresses.
It's also noted
for it's wine and olive oil.
We then boarded a jetboat to the tiny island of Capri.
We took the funicular to Capri Town where we visited the
Gardens of Augustus, overlooking the famous Faragliona
of Capri and Marina Piccola. We walked it's quaint streets,
shopped in the most beautiful shops and sat in a lovely
outdoor cafe' gazing at this beautiful paradise town called Capri!
