Rick Steve describes Lisbon as "a ramshackle but charming mix of now and then. Old wooden trolleys shiver up and down its hills, bird-stained statues mark grand squares, taxis rattle and screech through cobbled lanes, and well-worn people sip coffee in Art Nouveau cafés." Well, he definitely got the ramshackle part right...

 

Another overnight, this one from Madrid to Lisbon. This time, however, we had a private, two berth compartment. Swank!
