This is the last Gothic cathedral built in Spain. The previous Romanesque cathedral was destroyed in 1520 during a revolt of the Castilian towns. Begun by Juan Gil de Hontañon and continued by his son Rodrigo and Juan de Mugaguren in 1525, it was finally consecrated in 1768. The stained glass windows are from the 16th century.
