It's such a pleasure to have this kinda site,you know. You did really a good job. I also got surprised to know that you are British. I thought most of British wouldn't bother to learn foreign languages especially when it comes to Asian language. I studied English language in London(obviously in UK) for 1 and a half year and had a great time there. I still sometimes feel like going back there. I hope you feel the same way about Korea the way I do about England.

I sent you an e-mail about my time on Koje during the Korean War and the POW camp I did duty at. I am just wondering if you have talked to anyone, maybe the citizens there who may have pictures of the camp. I remember over the hill from the camp I was a
(enclosure 36). there was a town or village and we used to go there and visit the orphans at the Mary Knoll orphanage. There were a lot of Eurasion children there that my heart went outo. We used to take food and goodies from the PX to the children. I
had many pictures of the camp and some of the riots we had there but it was strongly suggested to me that I leave them there when I left, which I did. Would like to see any pictures if anyone has any. PS Could'nt get into anymore of your site tonight ex

I just thought I'd drop you a line to let you know your site is really good. I'm a current volunteer now in the newer project at Hyundai in Ulsan. I haven't been to KOje yet, but I'm hoping to visit the vols down there sometime.
I'm impressed by your standard of Korean. I hope mine gets that good, or did you get somebody else to do it?
Your year obviously had a profound effect on you to influence you to make this webpage, and so far mine's the same. I have only been here 7 weeks but it's been the best 7 of my life.
if you visit my website there are only photos there I'm afraid, so it's not a patch on yours!
By the way, did you ever go back to Korea?

I served with the US Forces in Korea and Koje at
the PWO Camp #1. When we were there no color existed other than the natural. It is so rewarding to see the transformation this island and people
have made. Back in the 50s it was an island of misery for all involved. Today it is a great tourist attractiion an it appears beautiful.
