Before the siding
EARLY MARCH

This is one of the earliest pictures of the front of the house. The builders spray painted the address on the front of the garage because the brass numbers weren’t up yet. The construction lot number sign (#18) had been smashed and covered by the outhouse that sat at the end of the driveway. It looks as if the address is 2Z0Z, but I suspect too much ceverza on a cold February afternoon.

LAST WEEK OF MARCH

The garage has been drywalled and insulated. We had a light snow a few days before this picture was taken, and some of the siding was muddy and icy…We were beginning to realize that Erie doesn’t get the same amount of snow that Superior and western Boulder County gets.

SECOND WEEK OF APRIL

It snowed 10 inches in Boulder three days later; really wet slushy snow. The garage doors are finally up. Construction slowed down a little at this point, but our walk-through and closing date had already been set, so the builders had to rush through some lousy building weather.

THIRD WEEK OF APRIL

A last look at the yard before grading. We've got so much thick sticky mud that we may just open a spa. Mike accidently stepped in the gooey mess and it pulled his shoe right off. Just like stepping in a big pile of dog doo! After grading, the sprinklers, fencing and turf will be installed.
