1.5 oz Oak Chips
1 tsp Irish Moss
1/4 lb. Roasted Barley
1/2 lb. Caramunich
1/2 lb. 50 lov Crystal
1 can Munton's Amber wet malt
1 can Munton's Light wet malt
1 pack Wyeast Scottish Ale
1 oz Crystal hops
primer: 1/2 cup Karo Syrup Grains were steeped until the boil. At boiling, wet malt was added. The wort was boiled for approximately 1 hr. Crystal hops and Irish Moss were boiled in the wort from the 25 minute mark to the 50 minute mark. Oak Chips were soaked in water for approx. 1 hr. before use, and were dro pped into the primary fermenter. First attempt at this recipe broke the carboy as I tried to cool it, so this time, the wort was allowed to cool on its own ove r a period of hours before the yeast was pitched.
