C'mere buddy, I've got to measure your chest.
This was my first foray underground. Larry Rose and I drove all night, after
my soccer game, to reach the cave campground around 3am. We stopped to rest
our bones at a shop with "priceless geological specimines" (glass) and nearly
got our heads shot off ;-). Happily that was the only real danger. The
7 hours underground consisted of a beautiful, natural obstacle course. Mammoth
Cave is the longest cave known, and the dry air allows "flowers" of stone
to grow over thousands of years. If you want to know what complete
darkness is light... just turn off your headlamp. On a serious note
NEVER SPELUNK WITHOUT A GUIDE or years of experience.
