Few people, great scenery.
I made a long weekend of a trip to Monongahela National Forest. It seems
that interstates coming to West Virginia moved traffic away from the tiny
backroads through this part of Appalacia. Taking the backroads and the
foottrails in this area turned up something unexpected around each turn, and
showed nature's real power to reclaim/undo what we have done to the land.
