the journey
This is what I wrote before taking my final exam in economics.
Besides, it wouldn't have helped if I tried frying my brains
out trying to study.

The journey of life is filled with uncertainties. Every stop and every turn can ultimately alter one's destiny. There are moments when a short stop on the pathway of life is so sudden that mankind fails to look beyond the horizon. Instead, mankind dwells on the trivialities of a minute, and turns it into a grand production of endless misery for eternity. The temporal value of material things are praised and deemed to be one of the significant goals in life. It is only when death knocks on our so-called reality that we experience an awakening of the soul. The realization that what we valued more in life is futile; that the most important things in life's our family and God.

In the scripture, Jesus told his disciples to separate themselves from their family and be with Him. Its meaning is simple and direct. Mankind can never achieve the grace of God if they attach themselves to their family. We must be willing to love our family and be prepared to leave them here on earth to achieve the highest glory of the soul. If Jesus asked us this, then it is only logical to detach ourselves from "things" that binds us.

Countless minds have pondered about "the meaning of life". Countless more have answered it according to their own reality. regardless, whatever one's perception of life is, there is only one truth. That is, that life on earth is short and that it is a journey towards eternity...towards God. Realizing this, our goal in life should be geared toward the gates of heaven.
