Akyarlar

Akyarlar is a small town on the tip of the Bodrum peninsula. It is quite green and lush in parts, very different from much of the area. There is also a long sandy beach sloping down into the incredible blue of the Aegean. There is a slight culture mix on the beach - at one end there are bars, restaurants and sunbeds and on the other there are cows! There are views across the Aegean to the Greek island of Kos, which is much closer than I'd imagined. A perfect place to stay if you enjoy the quiet life. Turutreis is a 20 minute ride in a dolmus.
