Turgutreis

Turgutreis is certainly a good mix of a Turkish town and a holiday resort. The resort is not just used by tourists on last minute package deals, but also by the Turkish population taking a break from life in Ankara or Istanbul. There is a small beach by the town, which is full of restaurants and bars. If you want a taste of real Turkey, I can strongly recommend an excellent family run restaurant in Turgutreis called "KAYSERI SOFRASI". I'm not sure of the address, but if you walk around the new mosque you will find it easily. Ask Mucahit or Cennet for the Yaglama (deliciously fresh Turkish pancakes with minced lamb and yoghurt) It was certainly the best food we tasted in Turkey. Just tell them John & David sent you...
