The Spice Girls and Cleopatra will be putting on a Girl Power show again for 150,000 fans this weekend. Teenage trio Cleopatra cannot believe their luck in being invited to support the Spice Girls for the two sell-out Wembley Stadium concerts, as well as the recent Sheffield gigs. "We are thrilled because we are real Spice Girl fans. Our dream was to play Wembley Stadium and we have succeeded in just eight months as a band," singer Cleo, 16, said.

The Spice Girls will release a special extended-play single just in time for the lucrative Christmas shopping season. "It's called the 'Goodbye EP'," Virgin Music Canada's national marketing manager, Doug Caldwell, said Wednesday in Toronto.
"November 17th is the projected release date for Canada and the U.S." Caldwell didn't know what other material would be on the EP, or whether the title track would eventually surface on the third Spice Girls album, slated for release some time next year. The song will be the first new Spice Girls music since the departure of Geri Halliwell.
Meanwhile, due out on the same day as the "Goodbye EP" is a new long-form concert video, "Live At Wembley", recorded earlier this year. Though there had been talk of airing the show as a pay-per-view special in Canada prior to its Nov. 17 release on home video, a spokesperson for the Viewer's Choice network in Toronto said Wednesday that they had no plans at this time to air "Live At Wembley".
Today Mel B revealed that she is now called Mel G. She officially changed her name to Melanie Gulzar. Also, when Mel G was asked why Geri wasn't at her wedding she answered: "I spoke to her 2 weeks ago, and as you know she went to a dinner with Victoria. The wedding is supposed to be a family gather and I wanted it to be as smooth as possible.
The Spice Girls have announced that fans attending this weekend's Wembley Stadium shows should be there earlier than previously stated. Tickets say the band will be on stage at 8pm, but the set now starts at 7.15. The first support act, Cleopatra. will perform from 5.30pm onwards.
September 13th: The first Spice to Get hitched!
Spice Girl Mel B has married in the 12th century church next to her mansion home. Scary Spice was given away by her father Martin and wore a white dress designed by the fashion company D2. Sources close to the Spice Girls confirmed the wedding between Scary and her fiancé, dancer Jimmy Gulzar, both aged 23, would go ahead at 3.30pm(BST). Crowds of fans, onlookers and journalists gathered outside St John the Baptist church in Little Marlow, Buckinghamshire. Although normal morning services had taken place in the church, it was specially decorated with white lilies. Just after 2pm, Little Marlow's vicar, the Rev Sue Irwin, arrived at St John the Baptist church and was escorted inside by four police officers. The groom is reported to have arrived in a white vintage Cadillac. A canvas tunnel stretching from the singer's garden almost to the doors of the church screened wedding-goers from the crowds. The couple are thought to have signed an exclusive deal with OK magazine for coverage of the event. Spice Girls spokesman Alan Edwards said that all the guests at the wedding of the singer and her fiancé would be wearing white. Sporting a white suit himself, Mr Edwards said: "It's going to be a nice, low-key affair with family and friends." There had also been suggestion that guests would be barefoot. Despite extensive preparations which have been going on at Scary's £2.5m 16th Century manor house, the singer denied nuptials were imminent. A two-tier 120ft by 40ft marquee has been erected in Mel B's eight-acre garden. And throughout the week a stream of lorries have been arriving carrying flowers, food, garden equipment and a set of portable toilets, decked out in regal gold and green paintwork. At the champagne reception afterwards, wedding guests were set to tuck in to Scary's favourite dish of jerk chicken and red snapper. Mel B, a.k.a. Melanie Brown, and her fellow Spices have had no time for a hen night. The girls played their second UK show at the Don Valley outdoor stadium in Sheffield on Saturday. Guests included Sporty Spice Mel C, Baby Spice Emma Bunton and Victoria, along with her Manchester United footballer fiancé David Beckham. But Ginger Spice Geri Halliwell did not get an invite. Asked about the event, she said "What wedding?" When told it was Mel B's, she said: "Oh.... No. I haven't been invited." No other celebrities were believed to be present. Mel B met Dutch-born Mr Gulzar earlier this year, and he proposed after a seven-week romance. She is three months pregnant with his child.

Spice Girls fans rejoice. Rumour has it Retired Spice aka Ger Halliwell, is rejoing the band for a one-off performance in England, which could lead to a permanent reunion. A band insider says the recent US tour would have been too exhausting for the feisty singer and she "just didn't want to do it. But a date in England is something she's interested in." Geri has linked up with a new business partner, Lisa Anderson, who is regarded as the most powerful woman in British pop music. Lisa has predicted that there are some interesting things in the pipeline. The reunion remour mill ground into action last week, when photos of Geri at a dinner with Posh Spice Victoria Adams, with her fiance, David Beckham, and George Michael, appeared in UK papers, The reunion was held at a chci French restaurant in St Tropez and was the first time Geri and Victoria had teamed up since Geri quit the Spice Girls four months ago, vowing to go solo. A three-month pregnant Victoria and dad-to-be David flew to Nice by private jet before boarding a helicopter to St Tropez to meet Geri and George, who has provided comfort and advice for Geri, as well as use of his LA, French, and London homes. The kisses and hugs all around put an end to the rumours the girls are not on speaking term. Onlookers said they were laughing and joking throughout their lush $1,000 seafood meal. But while George seemed happy to be entertained by David, the conversation turned serious between the girls several times. And no wonder. Victoria had some explaining to do after the snide comments the girls made about Geri to the press since the band became Ginger-less. Never give up on the good times, Geri. If Ginger does return to the Spice Girls, it will be as an entirely new woman. For while she may be keen to be accepted back in to the folds, Geri is also trying to put her previous Spice phase behind her and start fresh - by selling of her Spice Girls memorabilia.
Word from the City is that Mel B is set to marry this weekend. A marquee has gone up at Mel's home and locals in the area have been asked to keep quite about the whole thing. So far we have learned that Mel B has made Jimmy, her future husband to sign an agreement that if they are to break up then he gets nothing from her. Now thats what we call GIRL POWER!! The Spice Girls are all expected to be at the wedding, but no reports if Geri has been invited. We will keep you informed about these developments as they happen.

Mel C's secret boyfriend is a talented pop producer she met during a recording session in Dublin in January. However, Sporty Spice and dashing Jake Davies only realised they fancied each other a couple of months ago after they were reintroduced by a mutual pal, restaurateur Derick Blake.
The pair have been dating properly for a couple of weeks and have told pals their romance is at a "very early stage". But anyone at the David Lloyd Centre in Finchley, London, on Monday could testify to their mutual attraction. Mel, 24, and Jake, 28, from Surrey, were together again enjoying a tough lunchtime work-out at the upmarket sports club. "We couldn't believe it when they walked in," a man who was in the club said. Mel couldn't wipe the smile off her face. She appeared really crazy about this guy and he seemed just as sweet on her."
Last night Derick Blake, owner of eaterie the Mango Room and the man who helped spark romance between Mel and Jake, said he was thrilled the pair had found love. "Both have been to my restaurant a few times. "It was only when they arrived together on Saturday night and were really affectionate all evening that I realised they had become an item."
"Jake's a lovely bloke," one said. "People might think he's a lucky guy going out with someone as rich as Mel but he's not like that at all. Money and fame do not impress him one bit." Another old pal told that Sporty Spice was not the first pop star to fall for Jake. "Madonna took a shine to him a couple of years ago and was outrageously flirty with Jake. "But Jake never let on about whether Madonna ever got her wicked way with him." Since he quit his job, Jake has been working freelance and building his reputation as an engineer and producer.
Intriguingly his manager Tracy Slater's office is part of Simon Fuller's 19 Management company. Fuller, as you will recall, was sacked by the Spice Girls a year ago.
Last night a spokesman for Slater's company TLS said: "It's true that Jake and Melanie have been dating for a short while. "Their relationship is in its very early stages."
Pregnant Spice Mel B has a craving for peanut butter and ice-cream and is opting for a trendy waterbirth she revealed yesterday. Melanie is just over three months pregnant by fiancee Jimmy Gulzar but says she can't wait for the birth. "I'm hoping it will just sort of pop out," she said. "But I'd love to have a water birth." Mel said she knew within "the first week" that she was pregnant and, like Posh who is addicted to gherkins, she is already going through strange food cravings. "I thought I didn't have any cravings," she said. "And then I realised I was eating peanut butter every day. And I'm eating lots of cheesecake and ice-cream."
Mel was chatting about her pregnancy for the first time to Radio One presenter Jo Whiley who is due to give birth in November. And she revealed that although she is going for scans, she doesn't want to know what sex the baby is yet. "I am going for a scan tomorrow but I don't know if I want to know," she said. "I might just wait and see when it pops out." And she has a few clues what she will look like when she is heavily pregnant by looking at old photos of her mum. "She was fit and healthy in her platforms and mini skirts. But my bum is going to be twice its size which I'm not too keen about." Mel also added that she and Posh were considering making an album showing the two of them heavily pregnant. "We thought of a video of us being big and pregnant but you don't know how you'll feel," she said.
Mel confirmed that she intends to marry Jimmy, but rubbished reports that the wedding will be in a few days. "We will marry before Christmas, but not as soon as people have said," she said. She also said she won't have any bridesmaids of maid of honour, although the wedding will be a "church do." And Mel B insisted that she and Geri remained best friends, even though Geri had walked out on the band. "We spoke a couple of weeks ago and she seems nice and happy," said Mel. "You do have arguments but at the end of the day we do love each other to bits."

A spokeswoman for the Spice Girls has denied newspaper reports that Melanie Brown is to marry her fiancé in little more than a week. She said Mel B had repeatedly denied reports she is about to marry since returning from the girls' US tour. The spokeswoman said she was unable to comment further.
September 5th
Mel B is getting married in eight days time and she has asked the other Spice Girls to be her maids of honor, a British newspaper reported Saturday. The singer will marry her fiance, dancer Jimmy Gulzar, in a ceremony in her home town in Leeds, northern England, dressed in a top hat and white dress with fake leopard-skin trimmings, The Sun newspaper said. The other girls will be dressed in white, it said.
The newspaper quoted an unnamed source as confirming the marriage plans. The newspaper said the singer refused to talk about the wedding, but quoted her confirming that she was expecting a child. ``I've known for ages that I'm pregnant but it's NOT going to split up the Spice Girls -- nothing will. And yes, Jimmy is ecstatic,'' the tabloid daily quoted Mel as saying. The Sun said the couple had been house hunting in New York and London, but said that Mel was likely to want to settle in the British capital. ``London's where it's at for me,'' the paper quoted the singer as saying.
Also, the Spice Girls landed back on British soil this week, Greeted by adoring fans at Heathrow Airport after wrapping up their 42-date U.S. Tour. "We are really pleased to be back home again and can't wait to see our families," said Emma Bunton.
The quartet, looking tanned and relaxed, smiled for the cameras and chatted to fans after touching down. The Spice Girls are heading for their respective homes before beginning a four date sold out U.K. Tour, starting Sept. 11. Meanwhile, former Spice Geri Halliwell has taken another step toward her solo career. According to Billboard Bulletin, she hired Lisa Anderson as her business manager. Anderson is widely known in Britain as executive producer of the annual Brit Awards and stints at Virgin, PolyGram and RCA. Halliwell has "a lot of fascinating ideas for the future," Anderson says. "I think we'll make a dynamic team."
The foursome walked into an exclusive restaurant in the South of France on Saturday night. They look like two happy couples getting together for a cosy dinner. But between them they have a combined wealth of around £60 million. Geri Halliwell and George Michael joined Victoria Adams and her fiancee, David Beckham, for the late-night get-together. It was the first time Geri and pregnant Victoria had teamed up since Ginger quit the Spice Girls four months ago.
They were soon laughing and joking, although at times the conversation appeared intense. It gave Victoria, 24, the chance to clear up a few dodgy comments made about Geri by the rest of the girls after she quit. I'm sure the group's current problems with their hapless publicity machine will have cropped up. I understand Geri, 26, misses the camaraderie but is determined to stay pals with her old muckers. "They were having a great time, although the conversation got very serious at times - especially between Geri and Victoria," said one onlooker. "But George seemed happy to be entertained by David Beckham." The group dined on paella and green salad at top eaterie Le Girelier in the jet-set resort of St Tropez. After a two-hour dinner, they adjourned to George's nearby villa Chez Nobby. Geri has been comforted and advised by George since leaving the Spice Girls, staying at his Los Angeles home.

Spice Central can reveal that one of the songs from the next Spice Girls album is about safe sex. This song is going to be the sexiest Spice Girls song to date.

Next month, Geri Halliwell, formerly known as Ginger Spice, is set to make her first TV appearance since her departure from the Spice Girls. She is set to appear on the Des O'Connor show. Des himself said, "We've got Geri Halliwell coming on to the show and I might try and talk into her doing a duet... I think all the kids will be pleased to see her as she was the one for a lot of little girls. All the other Spice Girls are popular, but Geri was the one they liked."
On other news, in a recent press conference, the Spice Girls vowed to carry on despite the pregnancies of Posh and Scary Spice. They then went on to promote their final tour dates and their upcoming album.
AND THAT MAKES TWO...

PREGNANT Spice Girl Mel B and her delighted fiance Jimmy Gulzar plan to marry as soon as the group finish their American tour next month. The pair have already phoned Mel's mum and dad in Leeds to tell them about the baby. Excited Mel has also bought a house and is having builders install a nursery.
A friend told the News of the World: "The baby wasn't planned but Mel and Jimmy are completely thrilled about it. "Mel has tried to keep it quiet from fans for as long as possible. "But now she's more than three months pregnant she is happy for the news to come out. "Her family all know about it and can't wait for her to come home. "She hasn't had morning sickness and is feeling really well. She thinks being pregnant really suits her."
Mel and Jimmy have had a tempestuous on-off relationship but now, said the pal, "Mel can't wait to be a mum.She loves children and has wanted a baby for quite a while." The incredible news, hot on the heels of Posh Spice and soccer star David Beckham's news that they are also starting a family, has started friends guessing who will be a Spice Mum first. "There have been a lot of reports that Victoria is giving birth in February," said the pal, "but as yet neither Mel nor she are absolutely sure how pregnant they are. "They both took tests in America and are waiting to see their own doctors at home in Britain. "They'll know then exactly when they are due to become mums. But everybody thinks that Mel B is going to be the first." "The girls are all thrilled and have vowed to carry on."
The pal went on: "When they return off tour they're all planning to have a big holiday and then they'll be calming down their workload. "They'll be doing things separately as well as with the Spice Girls. "Mel has even just brought out her own record without the rest of the girls and that's the kind of thing they all want to do as well as being Spice Girls. "They have all said for a while that they want to do their own things - I suppose being a mum is one of those things."
Yesterday, Mel B's dad Martin couldn't stop smiling at his semi in Burley, Leeds. When we asked him how his daughter was, he grinned: "Oh, who told you that, then?" He added with a huge smile: "I can't say anything. " When asked if he was looking forward to being a grandad, he grinned again and said: "If my wife wants to say anything, it is up to her. "I am just a bit shocked. How did you find out about it? You're the first of the lot." Mel and Jimmy-a dancer in the Spice Girls stage show-first got together in March. They became engaged just ten weeks later. He proposed over a candlelight dinner in Paris and Mel shrieked with delight as he went down on one knee and presented her with a diamond engagement ring. Mel was in tears and was clapping and shouting. To celebrate they went on to the dancefloor. Mel described Jimmy as the "one person I don't mind everyone knowing about." She has also said: "I'm talking about babies after a substantial rest-maybe in Africa. Then he can become a real house husband. "He's gorgeous, really calm and chilled, a good antidote to me because I'm really manic." But in July the couple suffered an agonising split. Their six-week engagement ended after a bust-up in New York. She said that she and Jimmy were at each other's throats after being together round the clock. "I just couldn't stand it any more," she said at the time. But ten days later the couple kissed and made up.
Mel added: "He's really romantic. He did the whole thing, flowers, apologies, picnics. Now everything including the engagement is back on. " Mel's new family home is an eight-bedroom house in Hampstead, north London. The pal added last night: "Mel wants a very private wedding ceremony. She doesn't care where it is, she just wants to marry Jimmy and have a family." Mel has spoken in recent months about the importance of having her own home. After her engineer dad Martin and shopworker Andrea's 23-year marriage ended, she admitted her heartache. She also confessed that Geri's departure from the group had been "quite a gutter." She said: "If it all goes wrong and you get all upset, you always go 'I wanna go ho-o-ome'. Well I haven't got that now, so I've got to create my own."
Shortly afterwards she bought 42-year-old Andrea a £340,000 mansion in Leeds. Last night the insider added: "Both parents are absolutely thrilled about Mel being pregnant. "It's the news that they needed after all the heartache that has gone on in the Brown family recently." Mel has always said that when she does have children they will be very well protected by her. She was abused by racists while at school and told her sister she wished she had blond hair and blue eyes. Her friend said: "Mel is very protective about everyone she loves." Mel is expected to go ahead with the Spice Girls sell-out dates at Wembley Stadium next month.
Pregnant Victoria has also vowed not to let the band down. The girls have all discussed their futures and have decided that the band has a great future. Last night they performed to another packed house in Phoenix, Arizona. The pal added: "It's a very happy time for all the girls. "Neither Mel nor Victoria want to split up the group . . . and are absolutely delighted that they have agreed to stay together. "They've got fantastic support from their fans and can't wait for the Christmas single to be released."
BIGGEST NEWS SINCE GERI'S DEPARTURE!!!
August 21st
Well it seems that the Spice Girls will continue to get even smaller with the news this morning that Victoria Adams is 3 months pregnant. As of yet it has not been made official by Victoria or David Beckham, but when David was quizzed this morning he said "I don't want to comment on the situation" Now it asks the question are the Spice Girls indeed looking to finish on a high note or if Victoria is pregnant will they have a break to write new material and at the same time have a well deserved break. More news when we get it. The group is NOT breaking up!!!

The Mirror reports that Prince Charles wrote to former Spice Girl Geri Halliwell when she quit the all-girl group, saying he would miss her. Ginger Spice, who quit the chart-topping fivesome May 31, made a habit of giving strait-laced Charles a big kiss and even pinching his bottom when they met at charity concerts. "Dear Geri, I wanted to drop you a line to say how sorry I was to discover you had decided to leave the rest of the Spice Girls. I suspect I am not the only one to feel sad either! The group certainly will not be the same without your wonderfully friendly greeting in the future," wrote Charles.

A return to chart form for the Spice Girls has meant they are now favorites to take the Christmas number one slot. Bookmakers William Hill has cut betting from 8-1 to 7-4 for the group to make it a hatbtrixk of festive chart toppers, with bets of up to £500 a time. They appear to have recovered from a recent hiccup in their chart fortunes when the single Stop failed to make it to pole position in the UK earlier this year. William Hill spokesman Graham Sharpe said; "We have benn inundated with bets of £500 a time and we understand that the group has already recorded its Christmas single. Spice Central can confirm that it was recorded in Vancouver only a few days ago. "We are already looking at a potential six figure payout if they complete a Christmas hat-trick." However the group bounced back last month to chalk up a seventh number one with Viva Forever. The bookmaker is also offering odds of 66-1 for Geri to top the Charts.
While Scary Spice, a.k.a Melanie Brown is currently winding down the Spice Girls' summer tour, she is already beginning to cast her eye both to the new Girls album, as well as her own solo record, which she hopes to release next year. Mel B. is already building a studio in her home in England, and says that she will bring her collaborators into her home to record most of the album, which she says will have more of an R&B flavor. Some of Mel B.'s music idols and favorites she is attempting to peg for her album, include Lauryn Hill, Mary J. Blige and Prince, of whom Mel spoke about last week. "I think everybody's a fan of Prince's music," Brown told the MTV Radio Network, "I think [his career] has been going for such a long time that he's a bit of a legend, really. But who knows what we'll do together. You never really know until you get in the studio and see what the vibe is like." In other Spice solo news, Mel B. also said that Baby Spice recently did some work with Rod Stewart and that Mel C. is working on a project with Bruce Willis.

An upclose brush with Girl Power left an Edmonton youngster shaking with disbelief after she met her idol. Cassandra Dominelli could barely tumble the words out of her mouth fast enough yesterday as she described running into pop sensation Posh of Spice Girls fame while shopping in Vancouver.
"She's really nice. She's my favorite in the whole wide world, no one else,'' gushed the exuberant nine-year-old. "It's probably the most exciting thing that will ever happen to me in my child life.'' While there was plenty to say after the encounter, when she came face to face with Posh all she could do was stare.
"I still can't really believe it,'' squealed Cassandra, who flew home from Vancouver last night. "I couldn't talk. I was about to faint.'' The trip was a birthday present from her cousin, Christina Dominelli, 22, who also bought a concert ticket for older sister, Melissa.
At 14 years of age, she likes the group but to a lesser degree than Cassandra. Before Tuesday's concert, the group spent a few hours shopping along Robson Street. Lady luck was with the huge fan when she returned to a shop to buy a dress. In the store was Posh, whose real name is Victoria Adams, with a dresser and guard.
The speechless group watched the dark-haired powerhouse leave Shanghai City without buying anything. Christina stayed to pay for the dress, but asked her friend, Rich Kim to take the two girls and follow the singer for an autograph.
"Rich says, 'I know you don't like to get bothered a lot but this girl's like your No. 1 fan,' " recounted the breathless youngster. "And she said, 'Oh you want my autograph?' '' said Cassandra imitating a British accent. "She was hyperventilating,'' recalled Christina. "It's ironic of all the people, this kid from Edmonton meets her favorite star.
She eats, sleeps and breathes Posh.'' Afterward, the cousin and starstruck niece headed into a store across the street where they again ran into Posh. "When she came out of her change room to leave she smiled at me,'' explained Cassandra. "There wasn't many people in the store and people didn't recognize her.'' The youngster plans to frame the concert tickets and the autographed piece of paper that reads, "Love Victoria.'' The two sisters will share the memento.

It COULD be the news millions of female George Michael fans have been waiting for. As pop's most unlikely duo walked hand in hand, George looked like a man in love - this time with a Spice GIRL. The romantic shopping spree is the latest confuding installment in the George and Ginger show. Since quitting the Spice Girls four months ago, Geri Halliwell has been inseparable from the millionaire singer. She has been staying at his £4million home, Chez Nobby, while working on her next career move. It is also a turn around for George who recently Confirmed rumours he is gay after he was caught being lewd in a Los Angeles toilet. But as he firmly grasped Geri's hand, the confirmed bachelor looked like he had changed his mind after an all. Joking and Chatting, he entwined his fingers with hers as they strolled through Beverly Hills. And the ex-Wham star, who has been also been giving singer career advice, seemed not to want to let her go. One onlooker said: They were obviously enjoying each other's company. They looked very close." Dressed in a simple cream dress, Geri swapped the Marilyn Manroe look for Jackie Onassis-inspired Sixties look. An elegant plait and crossover white sandals completed the Picture. Later the pair stole out for lunch at the ivy Restaurant to celebrate her 26th birthday. But this time they were joined by George's boyfriend Kenny Goss. Ginger was showered with yellow roses and clothes from exclusive designer shop Nieman Marcus. Yesterday George flew into London, this time without Geri by his side, Asked where she was George, who was carrying a large-black holdall, joked "I am smuggling her in my bag" But of course George has never made any secret of his Admiration for Geri. And the pair have plenty in common - they are both from Watford and both millionaire band members who went solo. Last month he used an Internet question and answer session to praise Ginger's talents He Said: "She is one of the most remarkable people I have ever met. I really think she WAS the Spice Girls. "No disrespect to the others, but, let's be honest, who were you looking at when you watched a Spice Girls performance?"

The Artist Formerly Known As Ginger, saw a pair of her platform boots auctioned for £1,100. Bidding started at £400 for the footwear, which was up against memorabilia from Jimi Hendrix and Elvis Presley at the London sale.
"Game" may be a strong word for Spice World, the Spice Girls video game that Wannabes can pick up this week. It's more of an interactive concert experience. Players select one of the Spice Girls and hop into the recording studio to choose samples from group hits like "Wannabe" and "Spice up Your Life" to fuse into a Spice-y song. In the dance studio, they put together a routine, then cruise to the TV studio -- and whammo -- they've got their very own Spice Girls video. If that isn't enough, players who complete the game successfully are treated to some 30 minutes of footage from the British band's concerts and interviews. The group's continued appeal to the prepubescent set, and the fact that not many videogames are designed for girls (respectable efforts to lure girls to gaming notwithstanding), makes Spice World perfect for its target audience, girls between ages 6 and 12. Increasingly, new gamers come from the grade-school crowd. In the last 18 months, 6- to 10-year-olds made up 25 percent of new PlayStation users, says Charlotte Panther of Psygnosis. "There was a lot of stuff going on on the Web," says Panther, "but nothing really interactive aimed at the younger fans. The Spice World game was created to surpass the entertainment offered by Web sites and to combine the music, the video, and the sheer Spice phenomenon, with interactive gameplay." Incidentally, Geri Halliwell, better known as Ginger Spice, is -- despite her recent departure from the group -- still in the game, to the satisfaction of many loyal listeners. Business interests kept Halliwell a part of the game's Spice cabinet: By the time she left in late May, Spice World was in late beta. Removing her would have meant reworking the whole game and delaying the release, which was carefully timed to coincide with the Spice Girls' American tour. But the most interesting facet of the game is simply that it was designed for girls. Given the videogame industry's much-ballyhooed inability -- or disinclination, depending on whom you ask -- to draw in a female audience, Spice World's targeting of young female gamers is unusual. "I think that introducing [girls] to videogaming by letting them interact with characters whom they already like and admire is a great way to get them interested in a new platform," says Panther. Perhaps girls new to gaming will manage to wrest some of the PlayStation market share away from their male counterparts. Now that would be girl power.

The Spice Girls have given fans crisps, cameras, sweets and a movie - but now they're aiming to conquer the world of scent. In order to appeal to older fans, the stars are considering teaming up with leading fragrance house Elisabeth Arden to create an exclusive perfume. Hundreds of officially endorsed products, ranging from Walker's Crisps to computer games have already reached the shops and made the girls millions. But the group are aware that many of the products they have promoted appeal to a younger audience which is notoriously fickle, and now want to put their name to something with longevity which they can call their own. Barry Drinkwater, managing director of Big Tours, the Spice Girls' licensing agents, confirms talks have taken place with Elisabeth Arden. Drinkwater, who took over the girls' licensing after they axed manager Simon Fuller last November, adds, "Under the previous management there were more endorsements than actual Spice Girls brands. This new approach is better from a business point of view."
Victoria Adams has been turned away from a swanky restaurant, because she didn't look POSH enough. The Spice Girl was stunned when the restaurant manager at the five-star Brown Palace Hotel in Denver, America refused her entry saying her $1,280 (£800) Gucci skirt was too short - especially because she was staying at the hotel at the time. But the manager didn't recognise her and she refused to alter her attire so she and a pal left the $100 (£60)-a-head eateri for a more relaxed restaurant nearby. A restaurant guest says, "This is a very upmarket hotel. Victoria looked stunning in the slinky outfit but was told it wasn't suitable. She looked gutted. It was very amusing, especially given her reputation as a snazzy dresser. Posh Spice obviously wasn't posh enough, but I think she saw the funny side."
SPICEWORLD 2 in the works!!!
The Spice Girls are in Hollywood and they are reportedly determined to leave Hollywood with a movie deal. The newly fab four are pounding the Hollywood pavement during a five-day stay in Los Angeles as part of their whirlwind tour of America. And while they are there they are reportedly using the opportunity to get the ball rolling on their second film project. In between their Californian dates in Los Angeles, San Jose and San Bernadino, the girls will be meeting with their William Morris agents for a round of high-profile talks. Spice World - The Movie has become a box office success due to its soaring video sales and now the remaining members of the girl group want to repeat their onscreen successes.

Victoria Adams has splashed out on a £45,000 Porsche for her dad. Millionaire Posh loves buying her family lavish gifts and wanted father Tony to have a classy motor similar to the one her fiance David Beckham drives.
The silver Porsche Boxster was delivered to a friend's house and presented to Mr Adams when he arrived there on Friday night for a surprise drinks party. Tony was bowled over as he had always dreamt of owning one of the flash cars. But amusingly, he couldn't take the swanky S-reg out for a spin because the new plates didn't come into force until Saturday, August 1.
Before driving off from the family's plush, wooden-beamed home in Goff's Oak, Herts, yesterday, he said: "I was so surprised when I saw this beautiful car sitting there. "But I couldn't drive it back from our friends' house until the next day." Tony, director of a successful electrical wholesale business, has made up for lost time since.
The 2480cc, six-cylinder car, launched in Britain last year, does 0-60 mph in a mere 6.9 seconds. Posh's gift means Tony is now in an elite band of celebrity Boxster owners. Blue Peter's Katy Hill drives one as does Meg Matthews, who was given it by her Oasis husband Noel Gallagher when she passed her driving test.
However, Beckham, 23, who plans to marry Posh Spice next summer, drives a flashier model - a £70,000, midnight-blue 911 Carrera S Turbo. "But Tony's still really thrilled," says a family friend. "It's a beautiful car, the sort all men want to drive. Victoria enjoys spending money on expensive gifts for her family. "She loves David's Porsche and thought she would get Tony something similar." Last year Victoria, 24, spent £36,000 on two VW Golf convertibles for sister Louise, 21, and brother Christian, 19. She also bought Louise a £200,000 house near the family home when she fell pregnant.
Victoria drives a £35,000 racing green Mercedes McLaren SLK. Earlier this year, she revealed she and Beckham had a steamy romp in the back seat. Asked when she last had sex in a public place, she said: "I'm not saying because my boyfriend wouldn't be happy." But it was in my car recently."" Let's hope Tony doesn't follow his daughter's example with Posh's mum, Jackie.

It has just been announced that the pop group threesome Cleopatra will be the opening act for two upcoming Spice Girls concerts at Wembley Stadium in London on September 19 and 20. Both groups will sing for a crowd of approximately 100,000 people. However, group member Cleo Higgins, 16, regrets that former Spice Girl, Geri "Ginger Spice" Halliwell won't be there at Wembley: "It's upsetting to me that she left, you know, but if that's what she wants to do, I support her all the way, you know. I think she's gonna come back as a TV presenter or something because she's done that before, and she was really good."

Geri Halliwell, the former Ginger Spice is planning to host an internet chat session with fans where she will answer questions from fans and possibly reveal the reason for the split. The idea came from good friend George Michael who recently answered over 20,000 emails from fans. Details of this session are not yet known but it's expected to take place something in September. Details will be posted up and the chat is likely to take place on the Aegean's website (George Michael's record label). Go to http://www.aegean.net for more details.
Viva Forever has yet again proved to be the UK's favourite song by continued its run at the top spot by selling another 122,000 copies. The success of the Spice Girls news comes at the same time as the UK's Pepsi Chart Show celebrates its 5th birthday of bringing the TOP 40 songs to the UK music fans. Speaking live from the US Emma Said "All the Spice Girls want to thank everyone who has brought Viva Forever and make it the UK's Number One".

Geri Halliwell is set to follow her pal George Michael's advice - and bare all on the Internet. The Artist Formerly Known As Ginger will go on-line to tell her fans why she quit the Spice Girls. She decided on the move after George told her how successful his on-line talk with fans was earlier this month.
Geri's chat is being pencilled in for September and she has promised she won't shy away from any subject - no matter how touchy. She will be free by then from her contractual obligations which prevent her talking about the band. It will be done through George's website at his offices in Highgate. Geri has been taking private career advice from George and sees him as a father figure.
The couple are currently at George's mansion in Los Angeles. She has been there and at another of George's homes in the South of France since quitting the group in May. When George went on the Internet, he spoke about his arrest in Hollywood for lewd conduct. He even cracked jokes about it as thousands of fans from around the world e-mailed him. The idea was the brainchild of his cousin Andreas Georgiou who runs his record label Aegean.
Andreas is believed to be personally helping Geri with her plan. A source said: "Geri really listens to George and he thought his Internet chat was really fun. It gave him a chance to talk directly to all his fans and he felt it was a positive thing. And he knows how Geri feels - after all, he quit a teen band when he was younger." George received more than 27,000 questions when he went on-line. Since the chat, George's website has been visited two million times. Further details of Geri's interview will be posted there and the address is: www.aegean.net

There's been talks about a spice girls reunion. Geri has been engaged in talks with MTV to host the MTV European Music Awards. Geri is reportedly to be very interested in the project and so is MTV but more negotiations must take place in order to sort out the deal. If Geri does host the MTV show, MTV would probably delibrately organise it so that Geri presents an award to the all too familiar foursome. Nothing has been finalised at this point in time.

Mega Rich Mel B is spicing up the life of her beloved mum - by giving her mum a luxurious £340,000 mansion. Scary Spice's mum Andrea Brown, 42, set her heart on a stone built Victorian residence after being told buy her daughter to go searching for the house of her dreams. For the first time since Leeds-born Mel shot to fame mum Andrea is set to go up in the world. She will leave the cramped £45,000 three bedroomed Leeds semi where Mel grew up and moved into the 142 year old five bedroomed mansion with extensive gardens in a leafy suberb 10 miles away. But the move has hit a last minute snag - Mel hasn't offered enough money! Her first offer, made during the past week, has been rejected by the current owners. Now the Spice Girl, who is reputed to be worth in excess of £12 Million, is talking with her mum again before making a second bid. The asking price of £340,000 includes an £80,000 fee for a two-storey detached property at the back of the mansion. A friend said "Andrea is smitten with this house. She thinks it is perfect. She's set her heart on living there. "It's a dream home, she can stay in Leeds and it's private for when Mel comes home to stay. "No one is surprised by Mel's generosity. She has always looked after her family and this is the ultimate gift. "Maybe now, the family Alfa Romeo Spyder will look more at home outside the mansion than it does outside their redbricked semi," added the family friend. The Spice Girl's mum has been house-hunting on her own for the past four weeks after here daughter said she would be treating her to a new home. She has viewed several properties priced at £200,00 plus but the mansion is the only one she has viewed twice. Mel B would be buying the property from a gynaecologist and his wife who have lived in the elegant house for 30 years. It's a far cry from the home where Mel, her parents and teenager sister Danielle used to fight each other for space. The sitting room is 23 feet long and overlooks a stone flagged sun terrace and downstairs there's a spacious study and dining room leading to a breakfast kitchen. The mansion has original stained glass and leaded windows and is set back off a privately owned cul-de-sac with a sweeping gravel driveway. The current owners said "I am aware of a couple of people coming to view the property but Mel B has not been here in person. "We have been here for 30 happy years and I certainly would be delighted to sell to a Spice Girl, if the price was right." Mel B is expected to confirm a higher offer later this week and her mum could be the new owner within two months.
"The Spice Girls are tripping over their Buffalo shoes hoping to make this album!" That’s what Jason Rakim from Sony Music says about the new ‘South Park’ album that he is involved with at the moment. The Spice Girls track is expected to be the first recording by the four piece line up to see the light of day. The album, due out in October, is also set to feature the likes of Blur, Wyclef-Jean and Elton John.

It has been announced that SKY Television (UK) will be showing the finale of the Spice Girls world tour as a pay per view event. This follows the success that SKY Television had with the "Robbie William's Live and in you Living Room" which was also a pay per view. The show held at Wembley Stadium on 20th September caps off the Spices World tour which consisted of 97 dates and a total audience of 2.1million. This is great news to those Spice Girl fans who cannot get tickets for the Back in Britain stadium shows or for those that can't get to London.

Aprilia gave the ten passes to Santa Clara-based McGrath/Power Public Relations with a request to involve the community in the ticket distribution and left the decisions up to the agency staff. "We decided to use the tickets and chance to meet the Spice Girls to benefit the San Jose Children's Shelter and Make-a-Wish Foundation," said Terri Cook, president, McGrath/Power Public Relations. The Spice Girls' Viva Forever has shot straight to number one in the latest UK charts, disproving critics who didn't believe they could succeed without Geri. The much-delayed single, recorded while Geri was still a member of the group, is the Spice Girls seventh number one. It comfortable outsold its nearest rival, Will Smith's Just The Two Of Us, by about four times.
After the failure of Stop to reach Number One in the UK and Geri's departure from the group in May, the Spice Girl have proved to the world once more that they have still got "Girl Power" by yet again proving to the world with another number one. Viva Forever, who many have said is the best single on the Spice World album offically went into number one in the UK today after massive sales in the first half of the week and selling a total of 278,000 copies by the end of the week and 200,000 more copies than second place Will Smith. Stores across the UK at times had to turn away people because they did not have enough copies of Viva Forever and a couple of stores had people standing and waiting for extra copies to be sent well after closing time. This news is really great, but lets follow the success of Wannabe which 2 years ago this week went into number one for 7 weeks and togther get Viva Forever to the top of the charts the world over.
Geri Halliwell is selling dozens of her Spice Girls mementoes to raise money for a Children's cancer charity. Among items going under the auctioneer's hammer in September are her famous Union Jack mini-dress and a red sequinned gown wore to meet Prince Charles. Ginger Spice, hopes the clear-out will mark a new start. A close pal friend: "geri realises she will never shed the Spice Girl tag but the most important thing now is to carve out a future as a sophisticated and serious performer." The 25 year olf millionairess has already shed her garnish make-up and hair streaks for a fresh-faced look. Her racy MG sports car - brought at the height of the Spice mania - is also being sold. But the star, who had a benign lump removed from her breast at 18, wants all profits to go to charity. Her friend said: Geri's brush with breast cancer made her realise how desperate the funds are for research. "And she has always been touched by the plight of kids with leukaemia. "She is adamant she doesn't want to make cash from the Spice memorabilia. "she already has a very healthy bank balance and hopes some of her legacy will go to other sufferers.

I, the Spicemaster am going to see the Spice Girls at the Palace of Auburn Hills, in Detroit tonight. I hope to get some pictures, if not an autograph. I have excellent reserved seats. Out of a 23,000 sellout seat capacity, I am sitting in section A, on the floor. I will be a mere 19 rows from the stage.
I don't mean to brag. I will have an excellent view of the entire event, so I be able to take note of all the details, big and small. I will be posting an accurate, concise review of the concert within the week on the Spice Central news page. Look for it soon --Spicemaster

GERI HALLIWELL will be forced to reveal all about her bitter split with the Spice Girls...at the hands of TV's tougest interrogator. Ginger Spice has agreed to a no holds barred interview with
Jeremy Paxman on BBC2's hard-hitting Newsnight. The interview will be the first time that Geri has spoken in public about her shock departure from the Spice Girls. Paxman's tough quizzing technique - he once asked former Home Secretary Michael the same question 14 times - will prone Geri's final days with the group and the reasons she left. But the appearence on the high-brow show is seen as a good move for Geri as she tries to reach a new audience for her solo career away from the Fab Five. Last night one TV source told the Daily Star: "It looks as though Geri's Newsnight interview is going ahead. "We can only hope Geri's been well briefed about what she's likely to be faced with on the night. "Paxman's destroyed some of the toughest politicians around on Newsnight in the past." Since quitting the Spice Girls earlier this summer Geri has refused to utter a word about her real feeling towards Posh, Baby, Scary and Sporty. She left the chart-topping band amid accusations of massive bust-ups with Mel B. Lawyers representing both Geri Halliwell and the Spice Girls slapped gagging orders on both parties stopping them revealing the truth about the break-up. But earlier this month during an interview with a mag on their current American tour Sporty Spice Mel C openly attacked her former band pal saying: "Geri didn't sing much anyway. It's been quite easy to do live gigs without her." Now Geri's Newsnight appearence is sure to leave her exposed to constent probing from Paxman as to exactly why she choose to leave Britain's most successful girl band. The television source added: "Basically you don't agree to appear on Newsnight if you don't want to talk. "Geri Halliwell just won't get away with being able to say nothing about the four remaing Spice Girls. "You can bet your bottom dollar on that." Geri took the first step towards her new 'Serious Spice' image when she appeared as the cover star in a special women's health issue of Marie Claire mag. She was pictured barefoot with her hair scraped back and dressed in black - in an obvious attempt to move away from her skimpy Union Jack dress and platform heeled Spice Girl image. During the interview she claimed: "The best speakers aren't necessarily the most qualified. They are the ones who are just honest."

It has been reported that two songs, including one called Girlfriend, Boyfriend, have been offered to the Spice Girls by music producer Teddy Riley to sing as a part of the soundtrack for the upcoming movie of the notorious cartoon series South Park. The Spice Girls have not commented on these rumors, nor have the South Park people released a list of which artists are to appear on the soundtrack.
Last night,(July 23rd) the Spice Girls played a sellout show in
Columbus Ohio. Bruce Willis and Demi Moore were seen there together, with there daugthers. They seemed to be enjoying the show. Bruce and Demi put aside difference for one night, so they could bring there daugthers to the concert. A spokesperson for Bruce says the two are not getting back together, but just wanted one more night as a family. Bruce and Demi are reportedly in a heated custody battle over there children, since their shock splitup about two weeks ago. It is nice to know that the Spice Girls can bring even the biggest Hollywood stars together...even if it only is just for one night.
JULY 23rd
The Spice Girls are going to take part in the new series of 'The Love Boat (the next wave)'. They will be the first special guests in the first series that is going to be made towards the end of this year. Emma, Mel B, Victoria and Mel C were thrilled when they heared about this. Mel B said: "Well we were cool already in the US but to play a part in 'The Love Boat', well......that's fantastic for our popularity!" The new series with the Spice Girls in it will be shown in Early 1999.
