Kalle (also known as
"L'elephant de l'Afrique"), co-founder and leader of Empire Bakuba, passed away early sunday morning 29 november 1998 in a Kinshasa clinic after suffering from a heart attack. After Emoro, the small guy on the picture, also "the big man" PEPE KALLE is no longer with us. We will miss his beautiful voice...... He toured across Africa tirelessly for many years, making him one of the country's most respected cultural ambassadors. Apart from his velour vocal style and irresistible 'show chaud' he was also known in Kinshasa as a friend to the poor and underprivileged MHSRIP |
