The
Crusader's Sea Castle is the showpiece of Sidon, a fortress linked to the
mainland by a long causeway. Built by the Crusaders in the 13th century,
it was destroyed by the Mamelukes in 1289, but was rebuilt over the years
by a succession of Arab rulers.
