Hello people,
Welcome to this homepage of mine. At the moment, this page is still under construction. I apolozise for any shortcomings or unprofessionalism in this home page of mine right now.
My name is Roshan Bahadur Thapa, studying Master of Business Administration (Majors Tourism), from Central Queensland University, Sydney International Campus. I have completed my Bachelors of Tourism Management from Sydney last year.
I am from Kathmandu, Nepal. I did my schools from Goethals Memorial School, Kurseong, Darjeeling and finished my twelve from Modern Indian School, Kathmandu.
The main intension of this home page is  to expose the potential of the Tourism Industry in Nepal. Though tourism industry has always been the major source for Nepal, there has not been much effort put by the concerning body to market tourism  worldwide. This in fact can be observed as one of the saddest part of the tourism in Nepal.  Due to  the lack of tourism promotion and marketing, Nepal hasn't still been successful in attracting the right target audience, which would help in generating more foreign exchange, which the country badly needs.
In relation to marketing and promoting tourism in Nepal, I have realised that there has to be serious homework done by the implementors of the tourism policies of the tourism industry. It is to be noted that Nepal is much more than trekking or adventure holidays. There is a great potential of cultural tourism, indegenous tourism, heritage tourism, rural and farm tourism, educational tourism, events tourism etc. Therefore the time has now arrived for promoting tourisms based on themes, which is known as thematic tourism. The concerning body should realise that thematic tourism has the potential to disperse the tourist population throughout the nation therefore employing and involving more people in this industry. Tourists are not only looking for trekking, that predominates anong the central part of Nepal. The pattern of tourism behaviour is changing very rapidly in the modern world, it is to be noted that. Due to the increased economy, better education and increased leisure time of the people of developed countries, tourists are rather becoming wonderlust, who are seeking education experience too. This is the sector that Nepal should target for rather than cheap backpacking class of tourists.
Well, I cannot formulate and implemente strategies regarding thematic tourism in Nepal. However, in the future, I will be constantly upgrading informations and aware the the sufers about ways to increase the potential tourism in Nepal. My homepage will provide links to all the major tourism sectors in Nepal whether it be government or non-government.
I have noticed that few people living abroad have definitely put effort in exporting tourism products of Nepal through world wide web. This something to be proud of and I have decided to join them.
It is to be noted that this page is still under construction.
