The Various Multimedia Programs

Quark Express was a different story. My experience with this application before my practicum was limited to one project and a one time usage. Although I managed quite well with the program for my first time, again I had no idea of the potential. On my first day, for my first assignment, I was asked to re-design a brochure for a law firm. I forced myself through the functions of the program and designed a very nice brochure.

I used Quark Express almost everyday as a layout platform. For example, all of the newspaper ads I designed were created in Adobe Photoshop as separate images and then imported into Quark Express for the final layout. Text issues such as layout, presentation, kerning, leading and spacing became almost second nature to me. I must say I really enjoyed working with this program. I worked in Specular Locomotion only a few times during my practicum but was able to create a 3-D animation for a campaign called It is so Easy. The campaign was designed to market Credit Unions. A template was marketed throughout the country and was tailored to the specific Credit Union upon ordering. I worked with K2 Productions to transfer the animation to video. It was used in one of several television commercials.
