We had planned on a vacation to Napa and Tahoe long before the the accident, so given that Rick felt well enough to fly, we flew out on 19 Sep. Ed Schmitt, our carpenter, also went on vacation, chasing the remnents of Hurricane Floyd into Maine. We spent five days at the Calistoga Spa Hot Springs tasting great wines and eating great meals. We then drove over to our condo in Tahoe for seven days of hiking and dining. When we returned, Ed had sided the east side, the second story on the west side, and a shed on the north. After another week of work (only three days because of rain) we finished the north side and started on the south. Rick also covered the wine cellar with insulation and started to bury it. | |
