Coin Descriptions
The guide is divided into the sections of Disneyland and the color corresponds to those used in the Disneyland Today guide that is handed out at the park.
Table Sections
Each section has text descriptions of the various coins arranged in tables. In the top left corner of each table is the revision date for the information within that table.
First box
The first section of each table displays a smiley or unhappy face (GIF formatted
image) to indicate whether the coin is still available or not. Next is a
letter indicating whether the machine is a single player (S) or three player
(A,B,C) machine. This is a followed by a machine identification number when
one can be found on the machine.
Who
The next section describes the character/s on the coin. For non-Disney coins
it would be whatever is the main object on the coin.
"Words" on Coin, Description
This section has an image (GIF formatted) reflecting the orientation
of the coin (vertical or horizontal). You can download a scanned image (JPEG)
of the actual coin by "clicking" this symbol. If there are words
on the coin, they are listed in quotes. A brief description coin follows.
In parenthesis is the Disney movie that the character appeared in.
Location
This is the last known location. This section is color coded to match the
color used in the Disneyland Today freebie guide that is available at the
entrance gates to the park. If no longer available, this section is used
for comments.
With a Little Help From My Friends
With the help of friends and strangers who visit Disneyland,
I try to keep the locations updated but be aware that the coin machines
do get moved around and moved off stage. City Hall inside Disneyland has
a database and general coin information but not as detailed as the information
provided here. I appreciate any info you can send to me (david@pharm.medsch.ucla.edu).
