All the Disneyland coins I own are scanned and the images linked plus I've added a section on the Disneyland tokens.
New Elongated Coins!!!
The holiday season is upon us and the annual holiday set of elongated coins is out. Thanks to Lisa Shoup for the details. As soon as I get a set, I'll put up the images.
And thanks to Bob Hoff and Michael Carrasco for noting that the latest Villains set (Maleficent, Ursula, and Wicked Witch) that appear every October are no longer at Teddi Barra's Arcade. That was a real short time for them to be out so I think they are getting adjusted and will reappear.
Returning from Heaven...The Monorail penny coin!
Thanks to Lisa Shoup's ever-watchful eye, she found this once missing penny machine at the Neon Cactus over at the Disneyland Hotel area.

Nancy Wooten shared with me news (9/8/97) that there's a new hand crank machine located at Team Mickey shop across from the one in Mickey's Toy Box. It has four penny designs none of which are directly related to Disneyland (Disney owns the Angels). Nancy described them as: H - Angel's baseball team emblem over crossed bats - "ANAHEIM /
Angels" V - Four leaf clover - "MY LUCKY PENNY / ANAHEIM / CA." V - Two hearts pierced with arrow - "I Love You! (in script) / V - Golf ball on tee - "MY / LUCKY / BALL MARK" She also notes the machine #622 was moved from Teddi Barra's to the Pieces of Eight shop in New Orleans Square. Thanks Nancy! |

Elaine Tong informed me that Tokyo Disneyland has an elongated coin! Elaine says, "Well, it's not exactly a penny -- you put in your yen, then the machine provides a copper token that gets squashed. It is horizontal with the Castle on the left side and the words: 1997 Tokyo Disneyland on the right." There are actually five penny elongated coins available. Chip 'n' Dale (full length - horizontal), 1997 Megara (head - horizontal), (no date) And coming Oct. 24: Goofy (no design info available) |
