Rosetta's stone

Stone of Rosetta


The stone of Rosetta was found in 1799 by a french leutenant of Napoleans army. The stone was named after the place where it was found. On the stone was an inscription in old greek and two in Egyptian (hieroglyphs and demotian).
You can find the stone in the British Museum.
