The boys hammering to Chip Away © 1997 muggles
In this scene, the boys were hammering hard on their drum equipment during this practice session of "Chip Away."

The Grand Olympic Auditorium in downtown Los Angeles looks ready to transport fans to another dimension. As the Jane's Addiction crew worked hard laying down the finishing touches on the performance's dancing, lighting and sound effects, Jane's Addiction looked calm and collect as Dave Navarro, Stephen Perkins, and Flea stood shirtless for a little over 2 1/2 hours while practicing a hard, yet peaceful set. Perry Farrell left his shirt on, chugging his bottle of wine singing melodically. The sound from these guys is tremendous as they practiced their psuedo-setlist. Looking at Perry, you knew they were practicing for a flawless Olympic Auditorium performance in Los Angeles. The gang Wednesday (10/22/97), was rearranging guitar riffs and making minor adjustments mostly to "Summertime Rolls." The mood was definately there.

You would never guess this old boxing auditorium would be the site for one of Jane's Addiction's soon-to-be classic masterpieces, which has a very beautiful polynesian feel to it. Inside the "boxing ring" is a multi-level stage that is truely amazing. I don't want to entirely spoil the everyone's soon-to-be experience, but I will tell you this, two seperate stages, beautiful dancers all around, magnificent lights and of course, the music.
