Getting a bite

Flies

Thier are hundreds and millions of different flies. A briliant new fly is literaly being created every half an hour and you shouldn't buy more than 20 flies for your first outing I would advise this because it can get confusing. First find out where your going,When your going and then go and see your tackle suplier he should be able to suply you with 20 suitable flies for the day.

Lures are exelent ways of catching stocked rainbows from man built fisheries but you can catch bigger grown on fish with more imititive patterns. Lures can catch overwintered fish but I think they will be caught on imititive patterns aswell.

If you want to dry fly fish try this. A method I use is to wait at the side of the water for a fish to rise possibly taking a fly from the surface. Then I cast out and try and put my fly right on top of it and leave it thier. If you dont get a bite after 2 minutes look for another rising fish.
