To Whom It May Concern:

The purpose of this letter is to express my strong desire to be considered in your upcoming UPT selection board.  I am extremely interested in reaching my goal of becoming an officer and an aviator with your unit.

My aviation background is quite extensive having accumulated over 250 hours and a commercial pilot’s license with multi-engine and instrument ratings.  In addition to these accomplishments I continually strive to build upon my abilities as an aviator both in and out of the cockpit.  I am currently taking courses towards a Master’s Degree in Aviation Management from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU).  Also, to maintain proficiency as a pilot I am actively enhancing my abilities through a competition aerobatics course. This is all in addition to my Bachelors of Science Degree in Aeronautical Science obtained at ERAU.

I am a member of the 120th Fighter Squadron in Denver, Colorado as an Aircrew Life Support technician and would be honored to have the opportunity to become a pilot in the Air National Guard.  As the son of a retired USN Captain, I am familiar with the military lifestyle and know what it takes to succeed in such an environment.

Please take a few minutes to review the attached packet.  I think you will find my Pilot Candidate Selection Method score of 99 and AFOQT Pilot score of 86 very competitive.  Do not hesitate to contact me via phone or email if you have any questions.

Sincerely,

John C. Doe
