intellect of the world
pervading on the minds
of ignorant people
lies spoken to decieve
blind eyes can't see to lead
but to death, destruction
truth is twisted until
it becomes what they want
and morality is lost
into the depths of
relativity

we are swallowed into
ridiculous notions
that we are higher than
our swelling bellies
and growing wallets
while we ignore the screams
of the slaughtered thousands
the hungry millions
the homeless billions
begging for a crumb
of what we have
but we turn them away

slowly we sink down
to the bottom of the
barrel of our own
stupidity and sin
coming face to face with
the consequences
never learning to see
the true depth of our state
because we blind our eyes
with overwhelming greed
and a heart of stone

will we awaken and see
what we have become
believing truth to be
whatever we concieve
exchanging the truth
in the flawless words
of the Son of God
for human ignorance
