"WolfChild" "Mazeldra" 'The Star" Call me what you will... Though no matter what you call me I am always the same person. I come across in many guises, and sometimes even strange faces but I'm still genuine. I started the whole vampire game with my twin back in late 1991 , early 1992. I was bored , a drop out in night school.. and obsessed with watching Vampire movies all night .. I'd sleep from five am to ten am and spend the day and night writing out my horror movie and sleep deprived influenced vampire stories. I had a two hundred page book of short stories whicvh I basically threw out the window when I started my first novel. Out of this bad book of stories came alot of the charecters I use today" Kelly " , "Mobis", "Philip Cripps the Third" , "BrotherWolf Lindsey", Then one day I bought a little red notebook and a pilot brand pen and started wiritng the Hollywood Vampires influenced " Chronicles of Cultine" which you readers now know as "Ritual" . Alot of times I create something and then hand it off to Gypsy to cultivate and maintain. I was the original creator of the Hanio boys, Black Rose, LeStan Clan, Ruby Clan, and the likes and each time I involved my Twin and the world got bigger and brighter. Though Anne Rice was one of my favourite Authors I never read a word of her work before starting on my own novels! I picked up "The Vampire LeStat" used way after My World of the Vampires of HollyWood where created and my novel was almost completed. I am alot quicker to say My work is influneced more by Jonathon Swift ( the freaky adventures He called : "Gulliver's Travels" was one book I can read over and over again) , another major influnece is C.S. Forrester's Hornblower series. My favourite book from the series is "Flying Colours" And though I haven't been able to show the historic side of my vampires, they are alot like a Forrester novel. My Comics are influenced amainly by Two styles : The Legendary Japanese Artist : Leiji Matsumoto and his greatest manga/anime creation Captain Harlock. HIs style of big swoopy haired heros and tall blonde haired herions were the greatest thing ever in the 70's and 80's ! Yeah I know there Had better be a revival of Harlock, People! The other style I adore is Collen Doren , her work with "A distant Soil" was something I felt was missing in my book of influences the minute I read the first comic. Most defienitly read her comics! Music! I've met a few great bands, seen a few great bands. Music plays big in my writing and my comics. Bands like : L.A Guns, Gene Loves Jezebel, The Black Crowes , Danzig all make a nice soundtrack for me to write by. Meeting Glenn Danzig was a great experience as well as meeting the Black Crowes several times. The greatest influence in my musical life was a man I'd always wanted to meet, Was the Late Stevie Ray Vaughan . other blues influences are Buddy Guy( I saw him live and he was incredible!), B.B King, Eric Clapton, Jimmie Vanghan and The T-birds! I always tell people to get into the electric Blues, it's profound. In closing, I never know what new idea I'm going to have and what I am going to create.. it's never the same old thing that's for sure. Some will dig it ..some won't but it's what I want. As a vampire Gotta live so cool you're frozen cats! |
