STARDATE   04/01/2004

I was tempted to create some kind of April Fool's joke since today is April Fool's Day but I decided against it. So on to the news. I archived the news for the month of March and added events to the month of April. The Captain has volunteered the crew to participate in the Blazing Gavels Auction for KLRN in June. Please read his e-mail for further information. I have posted the dates for the auction along with a link to the site. This weekend is the annual Poteet Strawberry Festival (one of the events I added). Although this is not a group event, I hope everyone gets the chance to go out there and enjoy some strawberries & other delights. Our next meeting will occur on Saturday April 17th with a tentative time of 7 pm. We will be having another Texas No Limit Hold "Em Poker Night that evening as well. Since our meeting is scheduled during Fiesta week maybe we can do a group Fiesta activity. My next update should occur before the end of next week. Everyone have a fun and eventful weekend.

STARDATE   04/06/2004 & 04/07/2004

I have made a few changes to the links page. I also made a couple of minor corrections to the calendar months. I have spoken with the Captain and he has informed me that our next meeting will occur on Saturday April 17th at 7 pm. As always we will be holding our monthly Texas No Limit Hold' Em Poker event. Everyone please bring a snack that can be shared along with spending/betting money ($5 buy in). Reminder this weekend is the Scarborough Renaissance Festival near Dallas/Ft. Worth. End transmission.

STARDATE   04/12/2004

The Captain and his wife will not be able to host our monthly meeting on April 17th. He has rescheduled the meeting for Saturday April 24th. The meeting time will need to be chosen by the members. Everyone is encouraged to e-mail the Captain and decide upon a meeting time as soon as possible. I have changed the April calendar to reflect the new changes. Once a meeting time has been chosen I will post it on the April calendar. I hope everyone had an enjoyable Easter weekend and I look forward to seeing everyone at the meeting next week.

STARDATE   04/19/2004

I have spoken with the Captain and our meeting will occur this Saturday April 24 at 5 pm which will be followed by another round of Texas No Limit Hold 'Em Poker. Everyone please bring a snack plus betting money. I have updated the calendar to reflect the new meeting time and date. Fiesta officially kicked off this past weekend, I hope everyone has gotten a chance to check out some Fiesta events. See everyone at the meeting.

STARDATE   04/28/2004

We had our monthly meeting this past Saturday at the Captain's home. We discussed in detail IC 2004 and 2005 as well as Region 3 Summit. We also discussed the webpage, crew assignments, and departments. In the near future, I will become the new Communications Department head and will begin resurrecting the newsletter as well as making extensive additions to the website. Sharon, the XO, purchased more decorations for IC 2005 and brought them to the meeting. She also brought some gumbo which we are going to sell (our second fund raising project) at the annual Cajun Festival in September. Great gumbo. TJ, Emma, and T'Anna were unable to attend due to prior commitments. Our poker night began around 7 pm and lasted until midnight. Pat, region 3 coordinator, took the pot but she was closely followed by Sharon and myself. Everyone's poker skills have improved significantly since we began the monthly poker nights. All in all, it was a great evening. Until next time.
