1992 VOLVOS PRICED FOR VALUE
ROCKLEIGH, N.J. -- With a manufacturer's suggested retail price of $33,975, Volvo has positioned its new top-of-the-
line 960 sedan squarely in the center of the family/luxury car market. Powered by a 201 hp inline six-cylinder engine and
equipped with Volvo's Side Impact Protection System, the 960 has been designed and priced to compete with the finest
cars in its class from around the World. Volvo believes that the 960's long list of safety, performance and comfort
features makes its newest model an outstanding value for the money.
Volvo also announced prices for the balance of its 1992 models which, on a sales weighted average, showed an increase
of 3.9% over the previous year. The majority of this increase is due to additions in content, such as the inclusion of ABS
brakes as standard on every model. After adjusting for these equipment changes, the sales weighted price increase is
below 1%.
The 1992 Volvo model line will range in price from $20,820 for a 240 sedan with a manual transmission to $34,655 for
the wagon version of the top-of-the-line 960. The sales weighted average price for the entire 1992 Volvo line is still
below $26,000.
All 1992 Volvos will have as standard equipment a driver's side air bag, power assisted rack and pinion steering, four- wheel disc brakes with ABS, air conditioning and a custom audio system. Volvo's new car limited warranty provides three years/50,000 miles of protection. Additionally, all new Volvos will be covered by Volvo's trend-setting On Call"!
Roadside Assistance Program for a period of three years.
