Webmaster Extraordinaire
I was born in downtown London on 27 September 1951. My parents are Stephen and Martha Thompson. I have a sister, eleven months younger than I am, named Elizabeth. We just call her Beth.
When I was in the fourth grade I broke my left leg from falling out of a tree. It hurt.
When I was in college I majored in journalism. One of the required subjects for everyone was Psychology, and in that class I met a beautiful, charming Psychology major named Alice MacDonald. We really connected with each other, and we've been seeing each other ever since.
I started doing freelance work for the Eversley Press after I got out of college. When Margaret Thatcher finished her term, I interviewed her. It was a very good interview, I think, and it elevated my status quite a bit. I eventually made my way up to Assistant Editor. Roger Paxton was the Senior Editor, and a close friend of mine. When he died, the world lost the best editor it ever had. I became Senior Editor, but I pale in comparison to Roger.
In my spare time I write. I write a lot for work, but when I do writing in my free time it's mostly fiction. I have boxes and boxes of things I've written. I also sail a lot. It's loads of fun. Sometimes I hike, although I'm having back problems and should probably see a doctor.
My favourite:
movie: Picnic at Hanging Rock.
My name is Ryan Thompson. I run thevorpalsword. I've been involved in the Internet for about eight years, and computers four years longer than that.
television programme: I don't watch much television. Not enough to start picking favourites from it.
song: Louie Louie (the 1960's version).
singer: Peter Gabriel
book: 1984. It was really well-written.
colour: probably dark green.
website: RinkWorks.
newsgroup: alt.language.artificial. Oh, those witty conlangers!
