1. Come off the A720 Edinburgh by-pass at the A701 Straiton turn and head towards Penicuik.

2. Drive past the Ikea furniture store towards Loanhead then Bilston.

3. Approximately 3 miles past Bilston turn onto the B7026 towards Auchendinny.

4. Drive through the small village of Howgate, the Walltower is 1/2 mile outside Howgate on your left, opposite the Howgate restaurant.
