The Walltower is surrounded by beautiful countryside; many people do not realise that within 20 minutes of leaving Edinburgh city centre you can be in some of the most beautiful countryside that Scotland has to offer.

Whilst the local countryside does not offer the wild, rugged beauty of the highlands the undulating land has a more serene beauty, perhaps reflecting the fact that you are nearer to civilisation, that you are not all on your own.

Many local people are keen hunters, the farmers out of necessity and the rest out of desire. A lot of the local animal population are protected species so the sport is both hunting and stalking rather than purely hunting.

Horse back fox hunting is one of the more popular local pastimes, though, by and large, a preserve of the local landed gentry (The costs are astronomical) no one can fail to appreciate the majestic beauty of the local hunt in full flow across the horizon. A lot of city dwellers opinion is turning against the local hunts, seeing it as a preserve of the rich, but ask the local farmers about the damage that foxes can do.

Hunting and stalking can be arranged in the beautiful countryside surrounding the Walltower with the Michael Roberts shooting and stalking agency.

The agency can offer sport on over 2 million acres of land in Scotland and England, with such a large acreage on offer you are bound to find the exact sport, be it stalking or shooting, that you require.

Michael trained as a zoologist and, after spending some time as a teacher, founded his sports agency. Complying with all European regulations covering the sport Michael can offer a safe and rewarding experience for the sportsman or woman.

The sports agency and the Walltower B & B are separate businesses, the sports agency merely extending the range of offerings available whilst you stay at the Walltower.

You can either chose to stay at the Walltower and book your sport through the staff or Michael can offer both accommodation and the sport. Visit Michael's website at: -
