Legends
& Folklore
Here
is a listing of the Legends, Myths, Fairytales and/or Folklore behind some
of the places we've been, or plan on going. Also here are some local Urban
Legends we have investigated, or plan to in the near future. |
Wolfman's
Cabin -
By Dustin (Chaos Mage)
According
to the people we've talked to, this place was home to an old hermit in
the 1940's. He was an excentric man who liked to breed wolves. After so
many generations, the inbred wolves became unstalbe and even violent. They
escaped from their cages and killed the old hermit. The Ghosts of the hermit
and his wolves still haunt the woods around the cabin today, and its visitors
can still hear the snarling, and see the wolves run across the windows
on the sides as well as behind the cabin. |
Bigfoot's
Baby -
By Dustin (Chaos Mage)
According
to local Urban Legends, a child Sasquatch was ubducted from its mother
by wild animals of some sort (usually coyotes). The mother was so heart-broken
that she stopped eating and eventually died. Her ghost still walks the
forests of the Twin Harbors (Grays Harbor County and Willapa Bay/Harbor
of Washington State), trying desparately to follow the terrified screaming
of her child - which is still heard by campers, hunters, and hikers to
this very day. Supposedly, hearing the screaming of the child means that
the mother will soon be near (or already is) in search of her infant -
and whoever is there to hear it is in danger of being attacked by the mother's
Ghost. |
Oysterville
School House -
By Dustin (Chaos Mage)
Legend
has it that this place is haunted a child who died from an epileptic seizure.
The schoolhouse was built very early during the turn of the century, and
the girl is said to be wearing period clothes. Passers by have often seen
the child peering out the schoolhouse window, or standing on the porch
or walkway. The schoolhouse stands in Oysterville, WA on the Longbeach
peninsula. |
The
Lamplighter Restaurant -
By Dustin (Chaos Mage)
The
ghost inhabiting this area used to be, more than anything, a mere pest.
It would play pool while others were using the tables, turn the lights
on and off, etc. The source of the disturbances was found to be the ashes
of an old costomer which they kept on the fireplace. Since removing the
ashes, the disturbances have become much more subtle - though still present. |
