| Written by: Ryan Gage Date written: June 10th 2001 Alright. This is an outrage poem. I am so sick and tired of adults who run around crazy with their problems and conflicts, only to ignore my own. I'm often told what I think, told what I feel. Give it a fucking break. Adults will never understand me. So don't bother figuring out what I feel. Half the time I dont even know either. Age relations can work if adults stop thinking they know better because the truth is they dont. Inspired by "The Anthem for the Year 200" by Silverchair....Boo ya! Go Silverchair! Why am I always wrong? Always sitting at your feet. You are always right, Why must I see defeat? You dont know how I feel You dont know what I think You were never like me Old man, You missed the link. You had your day in the sun That distant world has gone The youth hold today Time to carry on Dont be sure of me Sure of how I exist I knew you'd never see After all the clues you missed. Some say I'm lost Some say I'm immature Believe me when I say, You'll never know for sure. I am who I am Dont try to understand I simply ask for exceptance Now take my open hand. I am me... not a liar... not lazy... not irresponsible... not a menace... Just me. |
