subcontinent of South Asia. Present day India, Pakistan, and India. Bordered by Himalayas and Hindu Kush.
Plains. 3 rivers (Indus,
Ganges, and Brahmaputa Rivers). At delta form fertile land for growing. Monsoons (seasonal winds).
Heaving raining season. Flooding!
Other characteristics:
Traded w/ Mesopotamia as early as 2300 B.C.
Pictograms on seals they placed on packages. Lacked written records.
Worshiped Gods associated w/ natural forces. By 1500 B.C., city of Harappan. Caste system.
