Real Estate Project using Linear Programming (Fall’98)
Derived the optimal number of furnished and unfurnished single-, double-bedrooms apartments to build in order to minimize cost and maximize revenue using linear programming. Searched various resources to find current rental costs and unit sizes for different types of apartments in the Bryan/College Station area. Defined the objective function and inequality equations. Webpage Design (Spring’98)
Created and designed webpage for a virtual commercial flower and gift shop using Microsoft Frontpage and HTML language for group class project. Webpage included graphics, animations, and sounds.


Speculation game (Fall’97)
Began with $25,000 and traded as a speculator on the S&P 500 and in commodities futures. Kept a record of daily price movements. Analyzed the external conditions affecting futures prices. Evaluated strategies and results at the end of the period.

Financial Price Risk Report on Hewlett Packard (Spring 96)
Determined the different types of derivatives, such as futures and swaps, utilized by Hewlett Packard in the off-balance sheet to manage risk exposures. Rationalized the reasons in using those financial instruments or commodities for hedging. Analyzed the successes of HP’s usage of derivatives in managing exposures to interest rate and currency risks.
