When
Czechs, Slovaks, and Ruthenians united to form Czechoslovakia in
1918, a simple white-red bicolor flag was chosen; in 1920 it
incorporated a blue triangle at the hoist. Czechoslovakia
divided into Slovakia and the Czech Republic in 1993, but the
latter country readopted the Czechoslovak flag as its own. |
