Phased Polaron Beam. The phased polaron beam is an extremely powerful directed energy weapon that fires a beam of polarons at the target. Jem'Hadar fighters were equipped with phased polaron beams, which had devastating effects on Federation, Romulan and Cardassian shields after they were first encountered in 2370. The Dominion did not become aware of the shield modifications until the Second Battle of Deep Space 9 in 2373, when Dominion officers were surprised to see Deep Space 9's shields holding. Jem'Hadar polaron rifles include an anticoagulant in the energy stream. This prevents any non-fatal rifle wounds from healing, forcing the enemy to devote resources into caring for them. (DS9: "The Ship", "Change of Heart") These weapons were replaced by plasma rifles in late 2375.

Energy Dissipator. The energy dissipator (also referred to as the energy dampening weapon) was an advanced energy weapon used by Breen forces in the mid-2370s during the Dominion War. The weapon was first encountered by Federation forces when the Breen entered the Dominion War as allies of the Dominion in 2375, at the Second Battle of Chin'toka. Since allied ships had never encountered the weapon before, it was especially effective against them. The weapon works by draining the energy of targeted ships, disabling their engines, weapons, and shields, thus making them easy targets for conventional weapons. Amongst the vessels lost to the weapon was the USS Defiant. Klingon ships can easily be made immune to the weapon by modifing their tritium intermix. This was found by accident after the engineer of a bird-of-prey, the IKS Ki'tang, performed the procedure to correct a containment problem in the starship's warp core. Unfortunately, Federation and Romulan ships can not be as easily modified. However, this problem was solved when Kira Nerys acquired a captured Jem'Hadar fighter with the weapon installed allowing Allied engineers to ascertain a way to counteract the effects of the dampening weapon. The Dominion had been in the process of retrofitting all Jem'Hadar vessels with the weapon. By the war's end, the Federation Alliance had developed a countermeasure to the Breen weapon, forcing the Dominion to discontinue its use.

Photon/Photonic Pulse. A photon pulse is a type of starship-mounted weapon or weapon modification, which is very effective at reducing shields. When Kovin fired a spread of photon pulses, from the bow of his ship, at the USS Voyager. In the opening volley, the pulses lowered Voyager's shield strength down to 82%, and by the time his assault was complete, he had completely disabled Voyagers shields. At a range of 9,000 kilometers, the pulse takes starship sensors offline. In order to recover from the pulse, the crew has to re-initialize the entire sensor array.

Antiproton Beam. An antiproton beam is a confined beam of antiprotons. First encountered in 2267, the "doomsday machine" used a beam of pure antiprotons as its primary weapon, capable of destroying whole planets. When she was undercover with the Maquis, Seska developed a tactic by which she disabled the computer core of a Cardassian frigate above Bajor with a modified antiproton beam that penetrated its shields and hull. The Jem'Hadar used a type of antiproton beam to detect the USS Defiant through its Romulan cloaking device. The Cardassians later used this technique when the Defiant was hijacked by the Maquis in 2371. Thomas Riker, commanding the captured vessel, was able to negate the beam by adjusting the resonance frequency of the cloaking device.

Plasma Torpedo. The plasma torpedo weapon is an extremely powerful torpedo of high-energy plasma that is used by Romulan forces and the Cardassian Union. The plasma torpedo travels at multi-warp speeds, nearly fast enough to outrun a Constitution-class starship. Upon detonation, the torpedo unleashes an enveloping energy plasma, forcing an implosion in the target. The weapon has a limited range, the plasma effect would dissipate after a few minutes of faster-than-light travel. Olasma torpedoes give off high concentrations of trilithium isotopes. The yields can be adjusted for ship-to-ship combat. Less yield means less of a power drain on the firing ships on-board systems allowing the ship to retain some of its maneuverability and escape capability.

Subspace Proximity Detonators. Subspace Proximity Detonators were a piece of military technology employed by several species, including Koinonians and Talarians. Starfleet tricorders were unable to detect the detonators, as were ship's sensors. Subspace proximity detonators were put into small bomb-like devices used by the Koinonians during the Koinonian Wars. After many years, the devices were still in working condition and the USS Enterprise-D's ship's archaelogist Marla Aster was killed by such a device when exploring caves on the Koinonian homeworld. The detonators were part of self-destruct devices sometimes installed aboard Talarian observation craft during the Galen border conflicts and were responsible for more than 200 Starfleet casualties.

Sonic Disruptor. A sonic disruptor is a weapon that projects a focused beam of extremely high intensity sound at its target. The vibration of acoustic energy imparted by this beam disrupts the molecular, and perhaps even atomic, structure of the target, creating a sonic disruption. Sonic disruptors have appeared in weapons ranging from man portable firearms to immense planetary defense batteries. Most weapon technology in use on Eminiar VII (and presumably, Vendikar) in the late 23rd century was of this type. Hand weapons could stun and kill individuals, and could do considerable damage to objects. Planetary defenses based on the same principle could project sonic vibrations equal to "18 to the 12th power decibels" at starships in orbit around the planet. Even at that intensity, the weapons were not a threat to a starship with shields rigged; they could do little beyond shaking the ship a bit, and their maximum range was less than that of shipboard phasers of that era. Sound does not travel in a vacuum; the orbital weapons emit a medium through which the vibrations propagate. "18 to the 12th power decibels" by is somewhat meaningless, since the decibel is a relative unit. The method of reporting values and the meaning of the unit, has changed by the time of the 23rd century.

Isolytic Burst Weapon. Subspace weapons are a class of directed energy weapons that affect subspace. These weapons were banned under the second Khitomer Accords due to their unpredictable nature. Among the effects that can occur as a result of these weapons are subspace tears. Son'a vessels carried and used isolytic burst weapons, a type of subspace weapon. This was a direct violation of the treaty signed at the second Khitomer Accords. The Starfleet-manufactured tricobalt device could also technically be classed as a subspace weapon, as it is capable of creating a tear in subspace. However, due to the high predictability of its subspace effects they may not be classified as subspace weapons and therefore not banned by the Khitomer Accords. Though infrequently, they are sometimes carried on Federation vessels. An isolytic burst is a type of subspace weapon, outlawed by the second Khitomer Accords. The weapon creates a subspace tear that homes in on the target's warp core. Jettisoning and detonating the core may seal the tear, but this does not always work, due to the unpredictable nature of subspace weaponry. The weapon, when fired, has a blue-white tint, and resembles charged plasma in appearance. Son'a vessels carried isolytic weapons, and used one against the USS Enterprise-E in the Briar Patch in 2375. The Enterprise was able to seal the resultant tear, but lost her warp core in the process. In addition, the explosion caused by the core caused severe damage to the vessel.

Cascading Biogenic Pulse. A cascading biogenic pulse uses thalaron radiation to kill all biological life within its range. Thalaron radiation's massive destructive potential leads the Federation to consider it a biogenic weapon. The biogenic pulse was first used in 2379 by Praetor Shinzon to assassinate the Romulan Senate. Thalaron radiation is a type of electromagnetic radiation in the tertiary EM band, once considered merely theoretical by Federation scientists. It destroys organic material at the subatomic level. Thalaron radiation exerts a negative effect on organic matter, much like its lower-frequency cousin, gamma radiation. Whereas gamma radiation merely causes the mutation of an organism's genome, thalaron radiation causes instant and complete necrosis in every cell it irradiates. Following exposure, the organism degenerates into an ash-like material, completely devoid of life. For the purposes of his plot to overthrow the Romulan Senate and install himself as praetor, Shinzon and his Reman allies developed a small thalaron radiation projector.

Remat Detonator. A Remat Detonator is a weapon designed to disrupt a person's pattern during transporter rematerialization, with lethal effects. The device can be as small as two square millimeters in size. Remat detonators are usually used by the Romulans, but are also sold on the black market. Federation transporters are programmed to scan for remats. Silaran

Telepresence Unit. Certain telepathic individuals can operate a telepresence unit. A telepresence unit is a device which utilizes telepresence to allow a person to safely control a vessel from a remote location. Telepathy is required to use a telepresence unit, which can transmit brain wave signals through many light-years in space. In 2154, the Romulans utilized a telepresence unit to control two Romulan drone-ships from a command center on Romulus. The crew of Enterprise also created a telepresence unit to prevent the Romulans from continuing their attacks with the prototype drone-ships. The Aenar Jhamel managed to control the device and was able to convince her brother, Gareb, (who was controlling the drone-ships) to stop the attacks. You can use it to operate the drones from huge distances even lightyears awa. You can use it to operate drones, probes, torpedoes, or even an auxilary vehicle. It is very draining and only short-term use is advised.

Houdini Anti-Personnel Mine. "Houdinis" were a type of subspace anti-personnel mines used by the Dominion during the Dominion War. The nickname "Houdini," referring to Human illusionist Harry Houdini, was given to the devices by Starfleet troops on AR-558 because they hide in subspace and appear at random. The mines were an effective psychological weapon, because there was no way to predict when or where they appear.

Son'a Drones. Son'a Drones are small automated flying devices, capable of shooting small projectiles, firing phaser or isolinear tags. In 2375, two Son'a shuttles launched several dozen drones on the Ba'ku planet when their transporters were unable to lock on top the escaping Ba'ku and Starfleet personnel. They can be run by remote control. They can also be used as simple antigrav carrying mules or for surveillance.
