Deck Layout Overview

Saucer A Deck is comprised of the Main Bridge and the VIP Docking Bay (Docking Port 1). The Main Bridge is the nexus for all Command, Control and Communications activities of the ship. It is situated at the head of the computer core. Within its superstructure are the forward and lateral navigational sensor arrays, the upper navigational sensor array and two emergency cold fusion battery banks (Cold Fusion).

Saucer B Deck has the ship's Executive Block. Briefing Room 1, the Captain's Ready Room and the Executive Officer's Office are all located forward of the two turbolift stations. There is no deck aft of the turbolifts, as this is the Officer's Lounge high-bay.

Most of Saucer C Deck is the Officer's Dining Mess Hall, a three-quarter ring surrounding the manual kitchen used by hobbyists and gourmet chefs to prepare food items differing or unavailable from the food fabricators/synthesizer. The remainder of C Deck is the two-deck high Officer's Lounge Complex, which is comprised of the Observation Lounge and the Wardrooms.

Two labs comprise the inner section of Saucer D Deck. Eight single Senior Officer's Quarters surround these in a ring. Quarters consist of a sleeping room (1 bed) and a living room, separated by a sliding transparent aluminum partition. A private refresher room adjoins the sleeper room and includes a head (toilet/bidet), sink/counter, Jacuzzi tub, sonic shower and a laundry unit. A walk-in closet and locker are located behind the sleeping and living rooms. Outboard of the quarters are the three pair of phaser units plus the life-support systems for Decks A-D, plus four emergency battery banks.

Forty single Officer's Quarters comprise most of Saucer E Deck, surrounding the main computer's memory banks and two Officer Messes. Quarters consist of a sleeping room (1 bed) with a closet behind it. A private refresher room adjoins each sleeper room and includes a head (toilet/bidet), sink/counter, Jacuzzi tub, sonic shower and a laundry unit. Outboard of the quarters (extending to the rim of the Primary Hull) is a low head-clearance area, reducing from 2.0 to 0.5 meters clearance. This low clearance area holds the life-support systems for Decks E-G, as well as twenty-four (24) emergency battery banks. The outermost portion of the low clearance area is taken up by the network of air ducts, plumbing lines, fiber-optic cables and power conduits servicing these three decks.

Most of Saucer F Deck is taken up by 163 Enlisted Quarters berthing 325 Personnel. Quarters consists of a sleeping room with 2 vertical bunks and a closet, adjoining a refresher room shared by another quarters. Thus four enlisted personnel share each refresher, which includes two heads (in private cubicles), sonic shower, sink/counter and a laundry unit. Four General Utility Rooms and Three Damage Control Lockers are mixed in with the quarters. The center section is comprised of eight (8) water tanks plus their pressurization system, which feed the upstream plumbing network. Also situated on this deck are most of the social compartments, including six Observation Messes, the upper Observation gallery and the high-bay of the Recreation Deck Complex, the Bowling Alley and the Firing Range. The Forward Observation Lounge is located 180 degrees around the Recreation Deck and is utilized for formal social gatherings, diplomatic receptions and as the ship's Chapel. The upper-bay of Impulse Engineering (and the fusion reaction (which can be connected to the intermix shaft via an energy conduit and can provide power for both the ship's internal systems and the impulse drive) and the deuterium tanks) is located at the rear of F Deck, and four reaction thruster packages (and their hydrogen tanks) are located at the semi-cardinal points. Six Shield generators provide defense for the Primary Hull.

Saucer G Deck has only half the living space of F Deck, due to the toroidal concavity on the lower surface of the Primary Hull. The full clearance area is divided into a central circular section and an outer ring section. The inner ring has sixteen Junior Officer Quarters (identical to Enlisted Quarters). It also has the five 6-person Personnel Transporter Rooms, four labs, the Sickbay Complex, the Security Complex (which includes an Assault Transporter Room), and the Command Intelligence Center, which includes the Auxiliary Bridge, Computer Archival Memory Unit and independent life-support system. The outer ring has six Junior Officer's Quarters and forty Enlisted Quarters, as well as the lower half of the Recreation Deck Complex - the center of social activity aboard ship (the Recreation Deck has independent life-support systems for exotic sports utilization - one result is that it can serve as an emergency shelter for the entire ship's complement). Impulse Engineering and Environmental Engineering are located at the rear of the ring, with four reaction thruster packages and their hydrogen tanks. The low clearance ring has four (4) organic defabricators, which collect waste from the downstream plumbing network and recycles it. Also here are the four Primary Hull landing pads and their articulation, as well as nine (9) Cargo Holds, five of which can be accessed by workbees via external hatches opening out to the lower hull surfaces.

The center section of Saucer H Deck is taken up by the Communications Bay, which houses the four communications stations, as well as the main computer's four central processing units. To aft and outboard are four labs, to forward and outboard are the two Airlock Complexes, which include the ship's main airlocks and Docking Ports 2 and 3, the Primary Hull Maintenance and Damage Control Workshops. Between and beside the Airlock Complexes are the three Phaser Control Rooms, which are adjacent to the three pair of phaser units on this deck and have the slave control of them, as well as the phaser units of D Deck. Also on this deck are the two 22-person Evacuation Transporters, plus eight (8) emergency battery banks and the life-support systems for Decks h-J. The dorsal section of this deck has the four pair of explosive bolts which hold the Dorsal Pylon to the Primary and had the head of the vertical impulse drive feed conduit Engineering Core.

Saucer I Deck is the Primary Hull's General Cargo Complex, and has two Cargo Transporters and seven (7) General Cargo Holds. Three (3) Observation Galleries each consist of a railed catwalk overhanging four (4) viewports.

Saucer J Deck consists of the Primary Hull Sensor Bay: two central processing units, four (4) sensor technician stations, the inertial/sub-space navigation unit, and access to the ship's main sensor arrays. These include the lower navigation sensor array, the fire-control array and the four (4) science arrays.

Engineering I Deck, Engineering J Deck and Engineering K Deck are utilized for various Engineering Systems, such as life-support, a Shield generator to prove defense for the pylon and the emergency battery banks - all of which can be accessed via the Jeffries Tube. The vertical impulse drive feed conduit Engineering Core also runs through these decks. Dorsal Pylon Decks I and J have small Observation Lounges at their forward ends.

Engineering L Deck houses the upper Torpedo Complex. Two Torpedo Casing and Staging Bays hold ten torpedoes each, which the warheads (and variable payload modules) are stowed in the Warhead Locker. Subsequent to being mated to a warhead/payload and fueled, torpedoes are lowered by a crane through the well from the Staging Bay to the Launch bay. Paired exhaust ducts run aft from the above the launch tubes to the exhaust vent. The vertical impulse drive feed conduit feed Engineering Core also runs through this deck.

Engineering M Deck, also known as the Torpedo Deck, houses the Port and Starboard Torpedo Launch Bays. After a torpedo is lowered through the well (The hole in Dorsal Pylon L Deck) to the conveying assembly, it is subsequently conveyed forward into the launch tube and sealed within. The vertical impulse drive feed conduit Engineering Core runs up between the two launch tubes. Two independent Launch Bays allows the ship to retain torpedo capability even if one bay is destroyed. Launch Bay A and Docking Port 4. Launch Bay B has Docking Port 5

The aftermost section of Engineering N Deck holds the four aft-firing maneuvering thrusters plus their four hydrogen tanks, as well as the Shield generator providing defense for the Upper Secondary Hull. The forward section holds the vertical impulse drive feed conduit Engineering Core. Between the two is the pocket holding the O Deck Sliding isolation Bulkhead.

The forward section of Engineering O Deck is known as Main Engineering. Here the upper end of the vertical intermix shaft branches off into the horizontal warp drive feed conduit and the vertical impulse drive feed conduit. All warp drive functions are controlled from Main Engineering. Directly adjoining this compartment is the Dilithium Chamber, which allowed suited personnel direct access to the dilithium crystal array - for alignment and replacement of same during reactor shutdown. Although this chamber has a rotating airlock built into its transparent aluminum bulkhead to prevent contamination of Main Engineering, it must not be accessed when the reactor is operating. The horizontal warp drive feed conduit proceeds aft to amidships within its own compartment, whereupon it splits into two nacelle feed conduits and proceeds outside of the Secondary Hull to the nacelles. An isolation bulkhead stored within a pocket on Engineering N Deck, can be lowered to cut off main Engineering from the Warp Drive Conduit Compartment, should there be danger of contamination. Four (4) forward-firing maneuvering thrusters and their four (4) hydrogen tanks, as well as four (4) emergency battery banks flank the horizontal warp field conduits. Aft of both is a compartment holding the life-support systems of the Hangar Bay. This independent system allows the Hangar to be depressurized and repressurized without placing strain on the Secondary Hull's life-support systems. The two aft phaser units adjoin this compartment. Aftermost is the Flight Control Room, which is responsible for coordinating all Extra-Vehicular-Activity (EVA) and the auxiliary craft activity and flight plans. This is also the aft Phaser Control Room, and has slaved control of the twin phaser units adjoining it, as well as the four units mounted at the bottom of the Secondary Hull.

Engineering P Deck is the main Engineer's work deck. The forward section is taken up by the Thruster Control Room, which monitors all maneuvering and reaction control thrusters, and through which runs the vertical intermix shaft. Two reaction thruster packages are mounted in the forward section, as well as their hydrogen tanks. As well there are the main energizer (which draws off electrical power from the intermix shaft), and the secondary inertial/sub-space navigational unit. Farther aft are two emergency cold fusion battery banks. Outboard of these are the offices of the Engineering Department and the Division Officers, as well as their Briefing Room. Farther aft are the four Engineering Workshops, a pair of Engineer's and Observation Lounges and the Engineer's Mess. Aftermost is the hanger high-bay, surrounded on three sides by the Observation and Control Gallery, which overlooks the Flight Deck below. The Deck Tractor Beam is located immediately below the center of the Gallery.

Engineering Q Deck is usually referred to as the Flight Deck, although the Hangar only takes up only the aftermost third. The forward section of the deck is the Power Distribution Room, which assigns and regulates power to all internal systems and monitors all energizers and power sources. Also in this section is the life-support system for Engineering Decks N-Q, two emergency cold fusion battery banks, two Observation Lounges and a pair of Shield generators, which provide defense for the starboard and port flanks of the Secondary Hull. Amidships is the Cargo high-bay, girded by a pair of catwalks, with bridges extending inwards to the two free-standing turbolifts, and outwards to Docking Ports 6 and 7. Two Damage Control Lockers also adjoin the cargo high-bay. Aft of this is the Hangar Deck Complex. A pair of large enclosed elevators opens aft onto the Flight Deck, and is large enough for any auxiliary craft. The Deck itself extends aft tot he hangar doors. To each side are a pair of Parking bays (for five Workbees each), and a pair of Airlocks which open onto the exterior fantail. A Shield curtain serves to keep the Hangar Bay pressurized even when the doors are open. This barrier can be penetrated by auxiliary craft entering or exiting the Hangar Bay.

The forward section of Engineering R Deck consists of the deflector emitter and the inorganic fabricator and defabricator. These are flanked by the port and starboard engineering sensor arrays, aft of which are the water tanks and Observation Lounges. Inboard is Environmental Engineering (to which are slaved all Secondary Hull life-support systems), the auxiliary fusion reaction high-bay and the organic defabricator (which collects waste from the secondary Hull's downstream plumbing network and recycles it). Aft of this is the cargo mid-bay, which is encircled by a catwalk, and which hold ninety-six (96) cargo containers at this level. Opening aft of the Cargo bay are the shuttle elevators and their drive. Opening to the rear from these elevators is Parking Bay 1, which hold four (4) Shuttlecraft and four (4) Travel Pods.

Engineering S Deck is usually referred to as the Cargo Deck. The forward section consists of two Observation Lounges, four deuterium tanks, Fusion Reactor Control and the second fusion reactor, which can be connected to the intermix shaft via an energy conduit, and can provide power for both the ship's internal systems and the impulse drive (in the event of Main Reaction and primary fusion reaction failure. The Secondary Hull Bridge is utilized when the Secondary Hull has been separated from the Primary Hull. The amidships section is the Cargo Deck - a three-deck high-bay which on this level holds one hundred twenty-eight (128) cargo containers. Twin turboshafts fun free from overhead to deck. The bay also contains two Cargo elevators, opening to the rear from which is Parking Bay 2, which hold six (6) fighter craft, as well as the attack sleds for the workbees. Sternmost is the main aft tractor beam and the two recorder marker-buoy launch tubes.

The forward section of Engineering T Deck is taken up by two reaction thruster packages, their hydrogen tanks and the main Reactor Control Room. The ship's botanical garden, attendant water tanks, botanical lab and two Observations Lounges are aft of this. Still farther aft are four (4) emergency battery banks, two 6-person Personnel Transporter Rooms and the Pool Complex, which features a sunning deck, swimming pool and Jacuzzi pool.

Engineering U Deck is also known as the Reactor Deck. The Reactor Bay holds the main matter/antimatter reactor, twenty-four (24) antimatter storage bottles and the bottom of the vertical intermix shaft Engineering Core. Immediately forward of this is the bottom engineering sensor. Aft of the Reactor Bay is the retractable tractor beam, flanked by two Bussard collectors, which gather interstellar hydrogen, processes it and refills all internal hydrogen and deuterium tanks (including their built-in deuterium matter reserve tanks for the main reactor). Farther aft is the life-support systems for Engineering Decks R-U, the pool low-bays and the four (4) pool water storage tanks, which a flash-pump (in the event of a Yellow Alert, both pools are empties).
