Hailing from Cebu, originally a five piece band formed in the middle of 2003 by two remaining original members Earl and Lorenz. At that time, Earl was looking for band mates in his concept of forming an emo band but when he got to know Lorenz, who was within the scene just watching local punk/hc shows and is a hardcore diehard, Self Will was formed. They were covering Thursday, Atreyu and even Hatebreed songs at that time. Then later on when emo was getting big and nu metal/rap metal bands shifted to emo, they revised their stuff. Hardcore was the main focus, because that is the huge influence of the band, it is not about fame and any of those crap that surrounds the music today, it's about reality, unity and staying true as the genre speaks, it's a way of life. Combining Old school, New school hardcore, heavy breakdowns and a bit of melodic sound was unleashed. Then later on the vocals, bass and second guitar left one by one for other important matters, Lorenz who was also a full time keys player for a Reggae band, did not make the Reggae band as the main reason for him to leave and give up Self Will, still dedicated, he and Earl continued Self Will and start looking for replacements. Later on they met Lester, vocalist from a punk/hc band Nurotranz during an S.R.A gig and asked to sing for them, then later on Nurotranz disbanded and then Lester recruited Nurotranz/Public Skandal bassist Christon to fill the bass slot. From then on Self Will became four piece force and remained intact. Starting over, the new line up are doing covers from Shutdown, Stretch Armstrong and Comeback kid and then composed their own original songs and released 2songs for their upcoming EP.
