Daryth Wingsong was born into a simple sylvan elf family. When he was but a young lad, a massed attack of orcish raiders had all but overcome the elven defenders, forcing them to retreat from their encampment deeper into the forest. As Daryth turned to flee with his people, he was met by two snarling orcs. Bravely, Daryth drew his tiny dagger and planted his feet firmly just as his father taught him as the orcs advanced, grinning. Before they reached the lad, however, the boy's mother flung herself between her son and the attackers, just as one of the orcs brought his club in a vicious swipe at a pale Daryth. As she fell to the ground, her head crushed her precious lifeblood seeping into the weeping earth, Daryth screamed once, plunged his small weapon in his mother's killer's knee, and fled. When the sylvan elves finally regrouped, Daryth's father was nowhere to be seen.

When the orc threat had finally been eliminated, their were many concerned but slightly detached families willing to look after a young Daryth. But after a short period of time, during which a number of raids had been made on their encampment by other denizens of the region, Daryth had had enough. He shouldered his bow and with a dagger at his waist he ventured out from the forest into what were human-controlled lands. He grew to be a quiet, yet always slightly bitter elf, always hiding his elven heritage with dark hoods. In a human society, he learned to properly fend for himself, livinng essentially on the streets He grew to love the quick snake-like dart of a hissing short sword, rather than the more elven weapon of the bow. He had several liasons with willing young lasses, but never had anything more than a passing affection for any.

After many years of absence, Daryth felt the calling of the woods, and he returned to the forest, joining with a number of other skilled sylvans elves in the service of the king (??). Daryth has very dark red hair and piercing blue eyes and dresses in black or very dark green attire.
