Description

Tall for an Elf. Luthien has broad muscular shoulders and strong arms. His powerful upper body tapers into the lithe hips and strong legs of the born gymnast. He wears his black hair in a single braided lock of just past shoulder length, the rest of his head being shaven. His eyes are a piercing blue/grey. His features, while not ugly, are too strong to be considered truly beautiful. However his abrupt almost impolite lack of courtly social skills puts people off far faster than his appearance. Luthien spends most of his time away from other people and feels somewhat uncomfortable around strangers. His only true friends are his swords, and perfecting his art is the goal of his life. Luthien has a strict self-imposed code of honour. He does not lie unless it’s absolutely essential (this earns him few friends). He endeavours never to draw a blade in anger, but once drawn (except in practice) his blades must taste blood before they are sheathed. Luthien will never see anyone being victimised or endangered if he is in a position to do anything about it. But most importantly, once Luthien says he will do something the only things that will stop him are a direct order from a superior (and as he is so independent these are few and far between), or the grave.

Character concept

Luthien is primarily a loner. As a child his abrupt and stormy temper made other youngsters avoid him. Nowadays he is totally dedicated to perfecting his martial skills. His main motivation in this has been to master the temper that caused him so much pain in his early years, he sees the mental discipline needed to be a truly great warrior as the answer to all his social problems. Luthien has spent most of his time living away from other elves, because of the bitter experiences of his child-hood and as such he is a bit awkward around others. His sincere attempts to be friendly often backfire, as he lacks social experience, unfortunately he can be brutally honest and doesn’t realise he has often given offence. Luthien has adopted a fighting technique unusual in the elven lands. Which he learned from another elf called "Corian quick blade" that had travelled extensively in his youth to far of lands. Corian was made into a bit of an outcast because of his strange military ideas. But saw in Luthien a kindred spirit, he was more than happy to train this young obviously talented elf. Corian was Luthien’s one true friend, and upon his deathbed he bequeathed the young elf his prize swords. Since Corian’s death Luthien has spent much time travelling through the forest trying to come to terms with things, and has only just returned to the city.

Luthien is truly deadly with his swords and adopts the two-weapon technique most of the time.
