Korians's Personality

Korian Windsong is the third child of Jerith and Mariah Windsong of HighHome. Jerith, his father, was an outstanding member of the Winter Wolves before his son was born. Shortly thereafter, he retired and took to training the next generation of this honored clan. Korians Mother, Mariah, is a powerful sorceress, who is Mistress of novices at the magic academy. At a young age Korian was put into the Winter Wolves training camp where, under his fathers stern tutelage he began to learn the fighting arts. He was an awkward child though, very clumsy. This led to him failing tests of skill with weapons and being ridiculed by his entire class. He grew so frustrated one day, after his lessons he went to speak to his mother about a magical cure for his clumsiness. His mother, ever loving, told him never to look to magic to alter himself in any way. "You will be who you are. Not even magic can change that." Still unsatisfied he sat on a stool and watched her as she worked on a magical experiment. as she read her book, he became curious and moved a bit closer.. and closer.. until when a bit later she looked up at him, he was sitting right next to her reading the magical text! She stared in amazement for a moment, and then tried him on a simple cantrip. He passed with flying colors..Literally.. as he watched the dancing lights above his head flicker out, he asked his Mother to teach him more magic. She most happily agreed. That evening at supper, Korian and Mariah told his Jerith the good news. At first his father would have none of it. "He is a Winter Wolf! not a Wizard!" But Korian was stubborn, and with his mothers backing, his father finally conceded. "But," he added," you will now Spend double time working on your fighting skills. We will see how you feel about studying after twelve hours of sword play!" The next few decades passed in a blur. during that time Korian found a weapon he could use fairly well. The spear. He told people he favored it because it was a multi purpose weapon, but his real reason was much more important to him. It cut down on his stumbling quite a bit, having a long pole to lean on and prod the ground ahead of him with. "And its kind of like your wizards Staff Mom." he said when he discovered this wonderfully useful weapon.he then painted runes all up the shaft. the writing said(and still does),"you will be who you are." With the aid of his magic, and his "walking stick" he passed the final exams of the Winter Wolves and became a full member on his hundredth birthday. Since then he has Completed many dangerous missions and made many friends within the ranks of his Clan. Of his friends he is one of the few who is unmarried. His figures is there will be plenty of time for marriage when he retires, why have the distraction of family now?(he doesn't do well with distractions.) From all this Korian became a welcome addition to any winter wolf team. His kind heart and selfless nature have brought joy to many wolves and his sharp spear tip and sharper intellect make him welcome in all circles(even if he bumbles things now and again!).
