The 3rd Edge lads tell sneak all about the first time they got saucy. Warning: it’s not pretty!

Which one of you is the biggest pulling monster?
Tom: We all dabble, apart from Dan. (Dan has a girlfriend.)
Dan: Yeah, can you print that? Dan doesn’t dabble!
J Tee: we all look at girls, but I reckon the first person to say, I’m getting those digits (phone number) is Tom.
Tom: Yeah, we all go to clubs and check out girls, but we talk about it more than we actually do it. If a girl talks to us, we go all shy!
J Tee: we’ll be going, she’s looking at you bruv, go and talk to her! And then it’s like, Nah, I just wanna have a drink, innit? I’m just out with the boys.
Tom: So, girlies, you’ve got to be gentle with us!

Do you all compare notes after you’ve pulled?
Tom: Yeah! We’re not gentlemen – we always tell!
J Tee: We look at each other in the morning and just know if one of us has pulled.
Dan: I wait until this lo have dropped the girl off at the station, and then they tell all. It’s all explicit, x-rated stuff – not for sneak, that’s for sure.

Is sex a big thing for 3rd Edge?
Tom: Well, our first three songs are all about sex, so it must be!
Dan: It’s definitely in our top five of most important things.
Tom: But it’s got to be with the right person. That’s why one night stands aren’t good.

How long can you last without getting jiggy?
Tom: Not very long, ha ha ha!
J Tee: Well, it’s alright for blokes though, innit?
Dan: What are you trying to say, J?
J Tee: Well, er, we can kind of relieve ourselves, can’t we?

Er, lovely! So what’s the longest you’ve gone without love action?
J Tee: From when I was born to when I lost my virginity.
Dan: That’s 23 years then!
Tom: Mine was a few months.

Virginity
Do you remember what it was like losing your virginity?
Dan: Yeah, it was terrible – horrible! I was 16 and I’d been with this girl for a little bit and I was so scared. I didn’t know what was going on.
I just looked at the condom and thought to myself, How the hell am I supposed to get this on? So I gave it to the girl and said, You do it and she was like, I aint doing it! And we ended up having an argument. Three weeks later, she dumped me.
How old were you Jtee?
J Tee: I was 18 and it had been a long wait! It wasn’t actually that bad. I always used to say to myself, look, I wanna save myself for someone special. This comment causes a great deal of amusement among the rest of the lads!)
I met this really cute girl at a party and we just started snogging. When I woke up the nest morning, I just sat in the corner of the room looking at her, thinking (in a sweet voice) aaah.
Dan: Did you have one of those personal moments where you thought, I’ve finally done it!?
J Tee: I dunno.
Dan: Straight after I did it, I went to the bathroom and I was like, (jumps around punching the air) yesss!. Then I composed myself and tried to walk back in looking all sexy!

You’re very honest, lads! What about you, Tom?
Tom: I was 14 when I lost my virginity. It was just a couple of weeks before my 15th birthday and it was very wrong and horrible for both of us. The girl was a good friend and that made it embarrassing and awkward. We saw each other all the time afterwards, so it was hard.
Looking back, though, I wouldn’t have wanted to do it with anyone else cos she was – and still is – such a good friend.

Rubbish
what was so bad about it?
Tom: We were staying at my mate Andy’s house and it was just a bit rubbish. We felt pressurised to do it, cos our mates had done it, which is the wrong reason to have sex with someone. I would rather have waited.
Your first time can be really good, but only if you wait for the right person and if you wait until you have an understanding of sex and what sex is all about. My advice would be: wear a condom, obviously, and wait until you’re comfortable. Definitely wait.
