George Lopez and Tum Tum of DSR
T-Town to the World

Its about 6:00 and I just arrived at T-Town Music Records Shop there is chaos. DSR boss and T-Town Music co-CEO George Lopez is caught in the run around to get the release party tight making calls and recieving calls from people like the Freestyle Kings and DJ Micheal Wyatts. It looks like we are not going get this interveiw cus it had not stoop moving snce we got there then when he finally got a break from setting up his store so it has their latest CD. Its another call this time it was from Tum-Tum .George informs him that we were there to conduct this interveiw and right after that they have to be at the radio station The Beat 97.9 in Dallas. With no time to spear and Tum Tum late we sat down in the Freestyle Kitchen, a prerecording studio where cats come to drop flows, to have the T-Town to the World interveiw
Interveiw by Arif Merritt

You have the #1 independent music store in Dallas and known around town as the Prince of the Compilations, how did you do it? How did you get in the Game?
George:I know the music.i saw other guys with music stores across town. I was a customerand i felt i could do the same thing. So, I went for it. We were about the same age so I felt like i would go for it . That was back in '94.

A lot of folks know T-Town in Texas not only for having all the rare underground music but also for DSR(Dirty South Rydas). How did that come about?
George:Promoting! Promotion is the number one way tp get out there. You have to have good marketing and know the right people. We wanted with some other people as far as promoting and whatever they promoted we promoted twice as much.
