Flood Hazard Area Control Rules 11/27/2006

The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) is conducting public hearings (one more to go) about the new proposed flood hazard area controls.
The link to the NJDEP site with information about the proposed changes can be found at www.state.nj.us/dep/rules/notices/100206a.htm.
It never hurts for residents to send letters supporting the proposed changes because, no doubt, those who are against the restrictions inherent in the regs (let me guess..developers?) are on the phone with NJDEP staff giving them an earful.
If you have a moment to send a note, even just to say you support the NJDEP's efforts to control flooding with the new regulations, you have until Dec. 31, 2006 to get it in to:
NJ Department of Environmental Protection
