Friday, Feb. 23
First hearing: 2:00
Second hearing: 3:30
A public hearing has been scheduled at the above date
and times in Trenton so residents and advocates can
tell the NJDEP about concerns over the stream encroachment permit applications
submitted by Desimone and Fefferman for their projects targeted for the Third
River floodplain at Liongate.
There are 2 hearings because there are 2 projects, so those who attend the
hearings will have to repeat themselves at the second hearing.
If you have directly been affected by flooding, we
suggest bringing photos, insurance claims, anything to
document your experience. We also recommend you tell
the NJDEP to redraw the 22-year old floodmaps before
they make decisions affecting your welfare based on
these outdated documents.
We have arranged to have a van take 18 people to
Trenton on the 23rd. If the van gets filled, perhaps
we can get another van, or arrange car pooling.
Anyone who is interested in going down in the van, or
who wants to go on their own, let us know.
Perhaps, if you would like to go but unable to, send a
letter to Neelofar Qureshi, Senior Environmental
Engineer, Bureau of Inland Regulation, P.O. box 439,
Trenton, NJ 08625-0439 advising him of this.
The hearing will be held on the second floor of 501 E.
State Street, Trenton, NJ 08625.
The next blog posting has the mailing address to send a
comment for the Fefferman Stream Encroachment permit pending at the NJDEP. We will let you know what the address is to send comments for the Desimone
project's stream encroachment permit application.
Any questions, concerns, or if you want to attend the hearing, e-mail
