So, Mr. Fefferman had his crew of suits in full array at last night's hearing (March 20, 2007) in front of the Bloomfield planning board. We heard from Traffic, Planning, Engineering, Architect, Remediation.

The follow-up meeting is Wednesday April 18, 7:30, council chambers.

Town Engineer Paul Lasek (really, not sure what the titles are, former town engineer Anthony Marucci I think continues to draw a consultant's check and came to the meeting last night) who is on the planning board recused himself because he said he had been in contact with our hydrologist, Joe Skupien.   Board attorney Michae Rubin and Board Chair LaQuaglia decided Lasek was too tarnished to decide on the project.

Anyhow, then Salerno accused Mr. Skupien of handing out material to board members before the meeting and in fact being in discussion with in the hallway with board members. Salerno's salvo was that Skupien was acting inappropriately and should not be able to ask Petry questions or testify.

We watched one after another of the suits describe how Fefferman was taking the steps to make the site more environmentally sound.  And of course, since the project is reduced from 124 units to 104 units, his environmental "cred" is suddenly improved.

The meeting ended at 10:30 p.m.

The Schoor Depalma engineer hired by the board to review the project submitted questions to Petry which are to be answered on the 18th. And then the public can make their comments.

Please ink in the date and plan on coming. Your participation is very important!
