April 15 Nr'easter dumped tons of water into the Third River (and New Jersey in general). Eco Realty captured (http://ecorealty.blogspot.com)some of the flooding. Anyone want to live along Morris Place? (see the apartments in the photos on Ecorealty).

We can only continue to ask, after 7 years of asking, how can anyone consider building homes on a floodplan when the emergency exit will only get flooded over and homeowners neighboring the site already get flooded. Why make things worse?

Here you can see that the river almost hit 8 Feet: http://waterdata.usgs.gov/nj/nwis/uv?cb_00065=on&format=gif_default&period=2&site_no=01392170

You're help to get this idea across to the Planning Board would significant. Please plan on attending:

Be HERE: This Wednesday, April 18, 7:30 pm.

Bloomfield Council Chambers,

2nd floor, Municipal Town Hall

across from Post Office.

Bloomfield Planning board has second part of hearing on the amended site plan submitted by Arthur Fefferman to construct 104 townhomes on a flood plain of the Third River.

This is down from the 124 he got approval for, but he removed a huge cavern to serve as a water detention system, which meant he had to remove some units.

On Wednesday night the Board will probably decide.

We want to see you there!!!

The NJDEP's decision regarding Fefferman's stream encroachment permit is due soon.
