Til Seven Years Pass Over Him First of all this is the nicest pakage we've recieved to date. In a time in independent musuc during which the publisist is queen bee it was nice to see a press kit designed to share rather than to sell, written by a friend confessing her love of listening to the music of this band on the L.A. freeway and in her room at night. The guitar parts are dark, edgy and heavy, however, clean comparable to "sunday's best." The lyrics are hopeful takes on love and lonliness, at times powerfull enough to evoke both the former and the latter through the lacy melodies they establish with the tender voice of the singer. On the title track, the bridge, a snipet of another melody: "See you in the morning/see it in your face/in your wedding gown" is as serene sounding as the sentiment and poetic majesty of the lyric. occasional keyboard waves and breaks back into fuzzy, old left hand bass lines clinch the deal. -Jeff Winkowski |
